Wilbur was the only one who knew about Tommy's regression; they were best friends, how could Wilbur not know? He'd been the one to comfort Tommy during his first argument with Tubbo, and ever since then they'd been a pretty good duo. Tommy would get stressed out over something, slip, and Wilbur would help soothe him.
Either way, it would be an understatement to say that he was caught off guard when he joined a discord call to find a very much regressed Tommy, curled up in the corner with a stuffed cow gripped in his hands.
"Toms? You okay?"
Tommy shook his head, sniffling softly before curling up tighter. Wilbur let out a soft "oh" as he settled into his chair, already sliding easily into that familiar caregiver role.
"You wanna tell me what happened?"
Wilbur's heart broke at the pain filled sob that left Tommy's lips, his body shaking with the force of it.
"Need Wilby.."
"You want me to come over bubs?"
Tommy nodded wordlessly, letting out another sob and sniffling again.
"Alright Toms, I'm gonna have to leave the call but I promise I'll be there soon."
Again Tommy nodded, hugging his cow and burying his face in the fur.

It took Wilbur longer than he would have liked to get to Tommy's house, but once he had arrived he rushed upstairs. The little hadn't moved from his spot in the corner, but Wilbur could now clearly see a damp spot on the cow plush where Tommy had been crying into it.
Wilbur made his way over to the corner, seating himself on the soft carpet and setting a hand on Tommy's knee.
"Hey bubs, I'm sorry it took so long."
Tommy didn't speak; he simply crawled forwards, abandoning his cow on the floor in order to cling onto his caregiver. Wilbur wrapped his arms around the boy, rocking him slowly and humming, his hands rubbing soothing circles onto Tommy's back.
They must have stayed there for nearly an hour, Tommy crying and clinging to Wilbur and the older boy doing whatever he could to comfort his friend. He'd finally started to calm down though, and Wilbur combed his fingers through the little's hair.
"Do you wanna talk about what happened now bubs?"
"Tubbo mad at me.."
"Oh no! Why do you say that?"
"Cuz hims was yellin at me durin bedwars.."Wilbur nodded, petting Tommy's head once again. "Are you sure he was mad at you? He might've just gotten a bit too excited, Toms."
"Mm.." Tommy quietly agreed, letting out a small yawn and cuddling closer to Wilbur.
"You tired bubs? If you want you can take a nap, I'll stay right here with you."
Tommy seemed hesitant at first but soon was dozing off, mumbling quietly to himself as he drifted to sleep. Wilbur stood carefully, holding Tommy in his arms as he placed the boy in his bed, settling down next to him while he slept, finally calm and getting the care and love he desperately needed.
