November 3, 2021Fire. Fire. Fire. I love fire. But you know what I love more that fire? Setting things on fire. It's so calming and beautiful. I love hearing people screaming when they see a building on fire. And the things they say...oh the things they say.
"Someone call 911!"
"Is anyone in the building?!"
"Who would do this?"
People like to think that they can be a hero and save everything, but they can't. And I'm living proof of it. My desire to set things on fire started when I was 7 years old. My parents tried to control it as much as they could, but as soon as I turned 18, I set anything and everything on fire. It started out small and progressively got bigger.
Now I'm standing in front of a 10 story building just itching to see it go up in flames. I start walking to the back of the building. I know that they have a gas tank somewhere around here. All the buildings in this godforsaken city do.
Before anyone gets mad at me again, I made sure that nobody was in the building and that it was alright for me to set on fire. This building is really old and was going to get rebuilt in a month anyways.
I grab the lighter fluid and a bunch of gasoline. I start to pour it all around the building. It does take a a little while, but I finally finished. I grab my tools and start to pick the lock in the back of the building. Once the lock it open I grab the gasoline and lighter fluid and start pouring it all over everything inside.
After that is done I exit the building and grab a lighter. I use a special one with my initials carved into the side. I know it's risky, but it's my favorite. I move a safe distance and light up the fluid. As soon as it makes contact, flames start to appear.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. As much as I want to stay here all night I have to go before I get caught. I grab all of my things and put my backpack on. Then that's when I hear it. Sirens. Police sirens.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm gonna get caught. I start looking around for a way to leave without being caught. I can't find anything so I start running. I don't care where I'm going I just need to leave fast.
I run down an alley and think I've finally lost them, but I spoke to soon. When I turn the corner there they are. Waiting for me. It's like they knew I would go this way.
They start running towards me and grab my arms. They pull the backpack off me and start handcuffing me. They push me to the car. They're talking, but I can't hear.
We drive and drive. We go inside the station and they try to get any information on me that they have. It's not much, just some other things that I set on fire. They pull me out of whatever room I was in and we pass by everyone in the station.
A girl. Two boys. The girl is yelling at the officer holding her. One boy is silent, but has a murderous look in his eyes. And the other boy is eating chips from the vending machine while smiling. He smiles like he isn't afraid of what's going to happen to him.
They say that I'm going to be transferred to prison and my sentence is undetermined. No. No. No. No. No. I can't go to prison. No. Please. No.
