A/N This one was a trial of something and I'm not sure if it worked

The city is a plethora

Of endless, immaculate lines

Drowning in the splendor

That used to be the natural world.

Skyscrapers twist up from the ground

Rotted hands, fingers clawed

As they reach for the sky

Trying to pull down the moon.

People move about,

Indifferent to anything but themselves,

They stand out in the crowd,
Different, unique

And so they are the same.

The sun begins to sink

Drowning in the earth,

Sending the horizon up in blazing gold

Dyeing the clouds

In colours only visible

To the minds of men.

The buildings are transformed

From cruel to beautiful

As they reflect the light,

That turns them into gods,

Tall and beautiful,
Blazing in the dying light.

But no-one sees.

People are haunted

By the memories of the past,

and the place is full

Of ghosts, becoming clearer

As night wins her battle.

Darkness has extinguished the sun

And now the world is lit only by

The beautiful metal monsters

Thriving on the graveyard of all we used to be.

This is what remains

This, all this death and disaster

Gone on the whims of people,

Long since turned to ash.
