Beautiful Thoughts

The Tic-Tac of Raindrops on the Windshield, the Soothing sound of Mandy Moore and a Flask of Chilled Whiskey. It's crazy what a man can think. Reminiscent on the Past. She was so beautiful. And oh how she loved to sing. When we'd lay down to gaze at the Breathtaking Stars, she'd sing. I remember one night so vividly: The Night Sky was drenched in the Sparkling Light of Beautiful Stars, Evelyn she grabbed my hand and turned to look me in the eyes, just like the Stars her Hazel Eyes sparkled complimenting her dimpled Grin, The Light illuminated her silkly Auburn hair. I began to stroke her cheek ever so gently as I leaned in to give a warming kiss to her. Evelyn was a Card, she stopped my motion so abruptly. "Travis, you are such a flirt." she said blushing mildly. Embarrassed, all I could do was smile.
Evelyn began to sing: There's a song that's inside of my soul, it's the one that I've tried to write over and over again. I'm awake in the end feeling co-
I cut her off with such a passionate kiss, she practically melted into my embrace.

We laid there for hours until ice cold raindrops tumbled from the skies. We began to walk. Just talking. I can't remember exactly what. Her pristine beauty distracted me so. So much that a sharp pain grew in my leg, that was probably from her well placed kick to my shin. We eventually came to an Inn. I gripped her hand. This was my chance!
I kneeled. I took the small box out my jacket pocket. I flung it open, held it up high and in a Choked Voice said:
"Evelyn, We've been together for a long time now. I know you are my only hope. I want your symphony singing in all that I am. Evelyn Samsara, will you marry me?"
Tears had already flooded my eyes. I saw the shining of the jeweled Ring, but only felt her warm embrace as she screamed at the top of her lungs: "Yes! Yes, I'll marry you. God yes, Travis!"

Of Course, that was 8 Years ago. The best time of my life. Only she mysteriously disappeared the next day. Two weeks later, our good friend Chet stopped by with tears streaming depressingly down his face, when he finally spoke he had only two words "She.... Died."  Fast forward those few years which leads to now. The Anniversary of her death. The Same Sky. The Same Rain. The Same Song.

I could say her Death strengthened me, but then I'd be lying. If Evelyn could see how I am now she'd be appalled. My Skin Tone went from Glowing to Pale. My hair pitch black Unruly, Uncut and Wild. My Blue eyes look as if they've seen the 1000 Truths of the World, a chilling Ice Blue. I reminisce on the day of her Death with such Malice.  My eyes were flooded instantly with tears. I could barely see in addition to my Tears with Rain Outside.
I could make out a figure in the Road, I swerve just in time, what did I hit? I don't know. I just remember everything going black.

I awoke in Black Robes inside a Black Room. I should've been worried, but my mind was dwelling on that call. How come I still live? I should be the one dead.
It was her moment. Why? Why her? It was at that moment I stopped believing in God. What kind of God preys on the innocent.

A Sparkle in Her Eyes, a Bright Smile glistening in the Night, Her Hair blowing so gently in the Apocalyptic Night. If you could see, what I see right now. Most would call me delusional, but I swear my eyes do not deceive me. My Love is here. I'm staring directly at her, and for the first time, in years, Evelyn is finally staring me in the eyes once again. She's Here.
