I walked out of the curtain, closing my steps with the gray and blue veil, making it very hard to see the path back. The sapphire blue walls, contrasting with the topaz floor, made it so that I felt like I was on the bottom of the sea, yet that was just a legend that dad told me.
Mrs. Amarí was not in the room, probably since she was presiding over part of the ceremony. All the other teachers thought that she should be the one to say the names, as it was a big and important role to play. She said that someone else should say the names, because she wanted to build the instruments and give them to the children in the ceremony.
She did say that Mr. Hils, our teacher with the salt and pepper hair and taught our class of social studies, about Pangaea, and history, should be the one to say the one special student's name. Oh wait. I forgot about telling you about the one special student.
So in the ceremony, everybody gets a magic instrument, yet they all are gifted with a special power that they are blessed to control. Normally there is a very little amount of magic inside of every instrument with domains of control as, books, swords, and the occasional technology. The magic that they are blessed with shows how much potential the user of the magic has.
But. . .the one chosen student that is chosen every year has a power that varies from these powers: Electricity, Nature, Water, Fire, Air, Earth, and Healing; The original founder of Wilderwood was one of the best students in the capital of Groia's capital's best academy, Thanesa. He was the student who was chosen in his year to be blessed with his instrument and the power of Nature, making it easier to found Wilderwood.
The one thing about the chosen student is that there has never been one student in all the hundred years since Groia has been founded, is that not one has had their instrument blessed with Water magic. The one time that there has ever been Water magic in the sacred grounds of Wilderwood sanctuary is when the countries of Aquola, Flioa, and Groia, were in balance with the sea, the sky, and the earth.
The founders of the three countries, Hallei Certerai, of Aquola, Raie Rease Ritoie, of Flioa, and Barry Iaseas, of Groia, all made a pact using their blood to water the three sacred stones in the Wilderwood sanctuary. The pact was for when one of the countries became more powerful, all three of the civilizations would lose their memories of each other.
Hallei and Raie were the people made sure that the pact was followed through with, as after they died, they were reincarnated into spirits that guarded the sacred stones. The other, Barry as I recall, was the one who left and became the guardian of the dead.
A couple of decades after all three of the countries were founded, the country, Groia, started to become more powerful than the rest. The two guardians, Hallei and Raie, closed off the pathways to the sky and the sea from Groia so that if the civilians became too powerful, they would not go and try to enslave the other people.
The memories of all the people who had ever known about the country of the ground, and the country of the sea, were erased by the guardians and their partners. This was all the guardians have ever written down about their lives and their powers and the sacred stones. All the people have always mocked this because they have never seen the guardians, the stones, or the Wilderwood sanctuary.
I closed the book, I had subconsciously started reading that had been laying on the mahogany desk of Mrs. Amarí had laid down on the desk.
"Who owns mahogany these days?" I asked, not even listening to myself.
I glanced sideways at the book cover. It was decorated with a picture of three sacred stones with the supposed emblems of the three countries, yet, only the Groia emblem was known about the cover. The stones were on a background of some grassy fields with oak and birch trees, covered in moss and the tree's leaves were dripping with water.
