Hailey sat on The Reed's couch as she watched Cobra Kai. "I don't get what the hype about Robby is all about Samantha is hotter," Hailey said as she turned to look at Adam who was nowhere in sight. "Adam?" Hailey shouted as she stood up from the couch and walked to the back door.
"Hey, Hailey is Adam out there?" Mrs. Reed asks as she walks down from the living room. "Yeah he's playing catch," Hailey said looking back at Adam. "Hey, Adam." Mrs. Reed yells as she opens the back door to get Adam's attention. "Adam, I'm headed out. Come and have your dinner." Hailey watches as Mrs. Reed returns back into the dining room.
"Wow, so pretty," Hailey mouthed as she pointed at Adam's mother. Adam, on his way into the house, hit Hailey in the arm. "Quit hitting on my mom," Adam whispered as walked into the house.
"Where you goin'?" Hailey asked as she looked over at Mrs. Reed as she put money into her purse. "Oh, just out to dinner with a friend." Mrs. Reed said as the two kids slowly walked towards her.
"Which friend?" Adam asked as he sat down at the table. "His name's Derek. We work together." Mrs. Reed said as she closed up her purse. "Oh, Derek. That's a nice name," Hailey said as she leaned against Adam.
"You're goin' on a date," Adam said grabbing a slice of pizza that was in front of him. "Not a date. I don't think it's a date." Mrs. Reed said dodging the topic even though they already knew. "Your dress thinks it is," Adam says as he uses his pizza to point toward her dress. "It's a nice dress, by the way," Hailey said grabbing the second slice of pizza that sat on Adam's plate. "Oh, it is a date. I am going on a date. Why am I going on a date?" Mrs. Reed looking at the two kids. "Can we please stop saying "date" now? Thanks." Adam says smiling at his mother.
"Adam, I'm sorry. We... we should have spoken about this. I don't know how to handle it. Let's talk about it now." Mrs. Reed said as she sat down at the dining table. "Dear God, no," Adam said, standing up and walking into the kitchen. "No! You can have any kind of feeling. It's normal. As long as we're a team..." Mrs. Reed began to say before getting interrupted by a notification from her phone. "Grab me one," Hailey said to Adam as he grabbed a drink from the fridge. "Oh! Time to go." Adam said as he grabbed Hailey her drink and closed the door.
"He texted me?" Mrs. Reed says as she checks her phone. "Well, look at that. It's a whole new world." Hailey joked as she grabbed her drink from Adam. "But we will talk about it tonight, honey." Mrs. Reed says as she begins to walk to the front door. "Mom, wait," Adam says as he gets up from the table and walks after her. "What?" She asks as she turns around to look at him. "Turn around," Adam said as his mother turns around and he zips up her dress. "Make good choices, okay?" Adam said as Mrs. Reed turned around. Said the boy who got suspended." Mrs. Reed said making Hailey laugh a little too hard.
"I love you, honey." Mrs. Reed says kissing Adam's forehead. "I love you too, Mom. More than I know." Mrs. Reed says mimicking Adam. "Listen, while I'm out, lock up the back. No ovens, no answering the door, no video games." Mrs. Reed says as she leaves the house. Hailey looks at Adam smirking before running to his room and turning on his tv.
