Happy Holi dear readers. If you do not know what Holi is, it is an Indian festival. We do water fights, play with gulal(type of colour that is in powder form and we put it on each other's body), play with flowers or in some places people also hit other people with sticks. The story behind Holi is
There once was a boy named Prahlad. He was a huge devotee of Lord Vishnu. His parents did not like this at all. They tried to stop him from worshipping Lord Vishnu but that did not work. They then tried to kill him. They used snakes, scorpions and many other things but they were not able to kill him cause he would just pray to Lord Vishnu and Lord Vishnu would protect him. His father had a sister called Holika who had a boon from god that she would not burn in fire if she wore a special scarf. Holika told Prahlad's father that she would sit with him in fire and she would not burn but Prahlad would die. Prahlad's father agreed to this. Holika sat with Prahlad on some wooden sticks and those sticks were lit on fire. Prahlad prayed to Lord Vishnu and a strong wind blew. The scarf flew away from Holika and on Prahlad. Prahlad was alive and Holika burnt.
The name Holi came from Holika's name. So once again Happy Holi everyone
