"Veronica..." He deflated as he said it. Something about the way he said it made me shudder. Both in a bad and good way. I put down the boxes gently. He chuckled.
"What?" I ask, a bit on the defensive now.
"Veronica! You know that is a Biblical name. She's a saint."
"I'm well aware of that," I say as I roll my eyes when he's not looking.
"Are you a saint?" His eyebrow raised as he looked at me.
"Far from." My voice cracked a bit. He looked at me with a strange look on his face. His lips parted a bit but then closed again.
"MAX." He blurted suddenly. I shot him a startled look. "Max is my name."
I tilted my head and looked at him. I studied his face that now had a name. He had a sharp jawline that had faint stubble dots lining it. He had a symmetrical nose that went down the exact middle of his face. His eyes were a striking bright blue that made me quiver. He had honey blond hair with a small floof at the top. He had freckles thrown across his face. I looked him up and down, admiring his strong physique. His arms were bigger then they needed to be. But admittedly, mine were too. A whisper of his abs were showing through his light baby blue shirt.
This boy was extremely handsome. I shuddered as his eyes looked me over. The chilling blue of his eyes seemed to make me cold. Despite his attractive face and body, I sensed that there was something untrustworthy about him. But who cared? He was nice and looked at me for more then two seconds in a conversation. No matter what was wrong with him, I was going to keep him close. I felt he was going to be valuable. I really hoped that whatever was wrong, would not matter. It wouldn't...right?
