My gaze spilled out of the shed doors and onto the driveway. From inside the shed I saw my driveway, road and across the street. My grasp was tight on a cord, the cord fell from the shed's beams and around my neck. The rest was in a mess at my feet and tied around a table that was in there.
The steady beat of my heart was all I felt. I felt no fear and no sadness. I actually felt excited to take my own life. I wouldn't be so tired anymore. I wouldn't be so empty anymore. At least, I hoped. After a few minutes I took off the cord and put it away. Maybe not today. Another day, maybe.
