CHAPTER TWO:
Fight for the right
"She obviously needs me more than she needs you," Dean growled. His had his finger on Cas's chest. Castiel looked appalled.
"You truly believe that?" he grunted, almost amused.
"I do. And so do you," Dean snapped, smugly. Cas nearly snarled.
"She is mine. I am hers. That's how soul mating works. Back the hell off," Cas snarled.
"Whoa, Cas. That's the most expression I've ever seen on your face. Too bad I'm about to smack it right off," Dean laughed, cruelly.
Cas's fist collided with Dean's hollow cheek. Dean stepped back, shocked. He pounced, knocking Cas into the desk. He wailed on his perfect face. I screamed, but Cas bucked him off and mounted Dean. He threw punch after punch, beating him into a bloody pulp. He stepped back, realising what he had done. Sam came bursting into the room. Dean slowly got up and threw himself at Cas. Sam stepped back, shocked and confused.
Sam pulled Dean off of Cas. I was cowering in the corner, terrified. I stared at Castiel with fear. I backed into Dean, and helped him up. He wasn't looking too good.
"So, you choose him. It's okay. As long as you are happy, so am I," Castiel whispered, on the brink of tears. He stepped forward, kissing my forehead. Before he could back away again, I grabbed his tie.
I pressed my chapped lips to his warm, soft, slightly bloody ones. They were softer than soft. He placed his hand around my waist. I opened my mouth slightly, takin it all in. We were completely wrapped in each other.
One by one, memories started popping into my healing mind. It was the final piece. I closed my eyes, not eager to break apart any time soon. He slightly bit my lip, and I shuddered.
"Do they have to breathe...?" Sam coughed. We finally (and reluctantly) broke apart.
Dean's expression was painful.
I knew everything. I was an angel. I was engaged to Cas. I helped stop the apocalypse. Sam had jumped into the pit. I didn't know how he got out, that was after my memory incident. I knew who and what I was. The feeling was phenomenal.
I touched Cas's forehead and we appeared in Tennessee. It was the first thing that had popped into my mind. I violently threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. We stood for hours, just embracing. We didn't have anything better to do.
"Unfortunately, your recent troubles have postponed an event we were planning," he started, softly. We were swaying slightly in the moonlight.
"The... the wedding?" I stuttered. He shrugged, nodding. Butterflies stirred in the pit of my stomach.
"Wedding seems to be a strange term. It's more of eternal binding," he whispered. I smiled, but I was nervous out of my mind.
"How? When?" I gulped. Why was this so terrifying? I thought of what came after the binding. Something we haven't actually done yet.
"We can do it now," he breathed, brushing my hair back. I shivered.
"How?" I said, glancing down.
"We will have to go to heaven. Balthazar can bind us. In fact, I think he will be the only one that'll be willing to. Our match isn't particularly popular," he chuckled. I sighed, terrified.
"Okay..." I whispered.
He took my hand and I closed my eyes. We appeared on a beautiful beach. I didn't know who's heaven we were in, but I knew it was heaven. My heart skipped a beat.
"Ah, Castiel," someone said. Balthazar. I blushed slightly. We had a history.
"Balthazar," Cas smiled, leaning in for a hug. They clashed awkwardly and I stepped back, expectant.
"What can I do for you? Let me guess- you want a binding," he chuckled, winking at me. I restrained a giggle.
"Yes," Cas said, bluntly. Balthazar shrugged, cocking his head towards the middle of the beach.
"Let's do this now, shall we?" he said. There was a slight change in his tone.
Cas extended his hands, and I took them in mine. Balthazar muttered a few words and I felt a searing pain on the bone in my ring finger. I glanced at it quickly. There was a glowing red symbol on it. I recognised it as the human 'infinity' symbol. In a few moments it had cooled and scarred. The same thing seemed to have happened to Cas.
"You will stand by each others side, forever and always," Balthazar barked. We both nodded.
"That's about it. You can 'kiss' and whatnot," Balthazar rolled his eyes. He seemed different all of the sudden, angry maybe, resentful.
I wiggled my eyebrows, looking up. Cas leaned down and we kissed. The sweetest kiss yet. We were bound.
Back to Earth we went. We didn't bother finding the boys. We had other things to do.
My favourite place in the world was a small forest in Olympia, Washington. I told him I wanted it to be there. It happened in a tree.
Angel sex... it had no words. It was beyond belief. It blew my mind. And he was so raw, pure. It made everything better.
We found the boys. They were at Bobby's. There was something wrong.
"It's Sam," Dean gasped, when we appeared in the kitchen. I worriedly looked at Cas, and we all sprinted down the stairs.
Sam was lying motionless on a metal table in Bobby's safe room.
"Is he dead?" I squeaked. Dean half shook his head.
"When you two disappeared Death and I made a deal. He retrieved Sammy's soul from the pit. He put up a wall, so I thought he would be okay. I don't know," he whimpered, quietly. Cas stepped forward and placed a hand on Sam's forehead.
"He's alive. He just needs time," Cas whispered.
"Before he went into... this, he was screaming about having to save someone. Someone in hell," Dean admitted, quickly. I heard Bobby trudging down the stairs.
"Just someone?" I asked, quickly.
"Well, he said she," Dean croaked. We both looked over at Sam's motionless figure.
"We should give him time. Let's go up stairs," I said, squeezing Dean's shoulder. He shrugged.
"You do realise I'm not thrilled with either of you," he started. We were all upstairs, lounging around be kitchen. I looked down ashamed.
"Dean, you do realise it's involuntary? We literally have to protect the other. If one dies, so does the other. Kind of," I sighed.
