the thought of losing you hurt me the most but the thought of making you happy was where i found peace. the fact that i know your favorite places, your favorite foods, your favorite songs, what made you happy. and that's where i found peace within myself. because if i could make somebody smile just by doing the most simplest things then really, what was i worrying about. i didn't need to buy expensive cologne or tickets to a football game to make you smile. i just had to buy you the newest album and a carton of your favorite ice cream and we would both be content. because there is nothing better than having somebody know you better than you know yourself.

that old lady next door lost her husband to cancer. the neighbor across the street just moved out. the girl who lives two blocks away is dealing with an alcoholic mother. the boy who lives three houses down is trying to get a scholarship. but none of you are aware of what's happening. we live in a world where we are always so focused on ourselves and our own problems that we never stop to think that maybe there are others who are also struggling. your closest friend is probably holding some secrets in. your father might have a past he doesn't want you to know about. your mother might regret moving you around so much. but we are unaware of that. because we are always so focused on our own thoughts and regrets. we never pay attention to anyone around us.

one day you're gonna wake up and you're going to be laying next to the person you love. from there you then have a job to go to. and once you're done working, you are probably going to stop to pick something up for dinner because there isn't enough time to cook. and when they get home, you're going to sit down at the counter and you're either going to hop into discussion or you're going to find peace in each other's silence. and maybe finding someone you want to do these things with, is what life means.
