Chapter 7 - Twelfth Night

London, England - December 23rd 2004

It was the last day for Sebastian to be experiencing the magic that was the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. His acting program at Rutgers allowed him and his friends to study for a semester in London, at Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. During the semester that he was there he studied so much about performing classical works from Shakespeare's texts. He didn't have much appreciation for Shakespeare's work before but after that semester he could truly understand why Shakespeare became so popular throughout the world.

On that last day he was to perform as Romeo in the classic masterpiece Romeo and Juliet. It wasn't a big production of course. The audience members only consisted of his classmates and his teachers, but he still felt nervous nonetheless. The girl who would play Juliet was Shannon, y/n's ex roommate. She was a good actress but Sebastian didn't feel any chemistry with her. Being with her reminded him of y/n. And it made him uneasy.

Sebastian and y/n had grown even closer ever since y/n broke up with Michael. Sebastian helped her get back on her feet after her very first heartbreak. He would accompany her whenever she worked at the bookstore. And they would sometimes go out to have lunch together. But Sebastian was still seeing Stephanie, who was going to NYU, so he couldn't become more than friends with y/n. He would visit Stephanie during the weekends. Sometimes he even asked y/n to come along and so they would hang out together the three of them. Stephanie was never jealous of y/n. She knew y/n and Sebastian were just friends.

It wasn't until the sixth month after her break up with Michael that y/n started seeing Jesse, her classmate. Not long after y/n started seeing Jesse, Sebastian and Stephanie broke up. The long distance between them put pressure on their relationship. So much so that Stephanie actually cheated on Sebastian with her classmate. In the end they had to end it.

Sebastian stayed single after breaking up with Stephanie. After being cheated on he couldn't trust any other girl at the time. He casually dated some girls but was never serious with them. During those times the only girl he constantly hung out with was y/n. Even though y/n was seeing Jesse, they still hung out together.

Over time Sebastian's feelings towards y/n became stronger. He fell in love with her. But he couldn't do anything while y/n was still dating Jesse. So he patiently waited for the time y/n would break up with Jesse.

It was September 2004 when he heard the news from y/n that she had broken up with Jesse. He was ecstatic when he heard it. Unfortunately at the time he just arrived in London for his semester at the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. He felt it would be better to confess his feelings towards y/n in person. So he kept his feelings to himself. However he texted y/n daily and called her every weekend. So that they stayed close despite the geographical distance between them.

"Seb, your turn!" Chad called out to him, snapping him out of his thoughts of y/n.

Sebastian entered the stage nervously, heart pounding so hard on his chest. He looked around the theatre. There were of course no one on the three tiers of seating surrounding the stage. His classmates and teachers sat on the courtyard directly in front of the stage, staring at him, waiting for him to deliver his first line. He took a deep breath, and delivered his first line as Romeo.

Sebastian performed well as Romeo. Despite feeling there was no chemistry between him and Shannon, they both still gave a good performance. He had learned a new trick in order to build chemistry with his partners. He would start imagining that his partners was y/n. Doing that made his performance much more believable. For that particular Romeo performance he even got a standing ovation from his teachers. His face reddened as he bowed down on the stage in front of his teachers and friends. Smiling from ear to ear he and Shannon hugged each other.
