It was late at night. Tracey finally got off the couch, heading to her much more comfortable bed. (Y/N) didn't go to sleep immediately, however, as he got up and left the Slytherin Dungeons completely.

He went up the marble staircase and up even more staircases, yawning and dragging his feet. He was nearing his destination when he heard something move in the shadows. He fished out his wand and muttered, "Lumos!"

Peering into the darkness, he noticed a dot, not too far ahead of him, going into the same room he wanted to go to, the Hospital Wing.

While he was wondering what the dot was, his feet were taking him, step by step, closer and closer to the dot that was moving, which in the meantime had become a speck, and then began to show every sign of turning into a blob. And shortly after that, the blob became a figure. And then, as (Y/N) got even closer, he saw that the thing was neither a dot nor a speck nor a blob nor a figure, but a person.

It was a boy. Draco Malfoy.

As Malfoy opened the doors and entered, (Y/N) slithered in. Malfoy seemed to have finally realised that (Y/N) was following him because he turned around, wand raised and pointed at (Y/N).

"Wyllt." Malfoy sneered. "What are you doing here this late at night?"

"I can ask you the same thing," (Y/N) snapped back, the light from his wand pointed right under Malfoy's face.

"Here to visit Granger, I suppose?" Malfoy asked. (Y/N) wasn't sure if he was guessing or simply mocking him. Either way, he didn't reply, but he lowered his wand. Something in his body told him to do it.

The two boys stood in silence. Malfoy also lowered his wand. The wind whistled and the moon shone brightly, hitting the window, which crept slowly to Hermione's bed. They looked at it with sadness in their eyes.

Malfoy then approached Hermione, catching (Y/N) completely off guard. He tried stopping him but his body told him to wait and watch what happens. (Y/N) obeyed and stood back in his spot, watching Malfoy sit at the chair next to Hermione, something in his hand.

Malfoy took the item and showed it to the curious (Y/N). It was a balled-up piece of paper. (Y/N) didn't understand. Why was Malfoy giving Hermione a balled-up piece of paper?

"What's it for? The paper, what's it for?" (Y/N) asked, approaching Malfoy and sitting on the edge of Hermione's hospital bed.

"It contains the information on the Basilisk, the animal roaming around the school and petrifying all the students," Malfoy replied. (Y/N) nearly fell off the bed in shock.

"Wait, you know that the animal is a Basilisk?"

Malfoy simply nodded.

The two boys now sat in silence. It wasn't uncomfortable but rather as if they were trying to understand what was going on and how the other felt.

"So, why are you giving this clue to Hermione? Don't you want the animal to get rid of the so-call filth? Don't you hate... us?" (Y/N) whispered, staring at the blonde kid in front of him. They never had such a calm and quiet conversation as this. In fact, they never had conversations at all. They only sneered or yelled or attacked each other.

"I never did hate you guys. I envied your friendship, I did. I only have Crabbe and Goyle, two idiots who can't tell the end of a broomstick." (Y/N) chuckled at the statement. "I act the way I do because Father told me to do so. Said that if I don't, I will be a disgrace to my family name and bloodline and he will blast me off the family tree. But, one day, I eavesdropped on his conversation with his friend. They were talking about the Chamber of Secrets and what lived inside it. Knowing about the Basilisk, I went to go and study them. Remember in Flourish and Blotts, when I bullied you and Potter about appearing on the front page?"
