Once upon a time, there lived a peaceful kingdom which was ruled by a wise and noble King and his wife, a kind and lovely Queen. The King loved his wife dearly with all his heart and did everything he could to make her happy. Although the Queen did love her husband, all she really wanted from him was a child of their own.
On a cold winter's day, as the snowflakes were falling softly and swiftly, the Queen sat sewing by her open window where a patch of bluebells grew. As she sewed, she accidentally pricked her finger with the needle, and three drops of blood fell upon the snow on her windowsill. The bright red color of the blood looked so beautiful against the pure, white snow that the Queen thought to herself, "Oh, how I wish I could have a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, eyes as blue as bluebells, and hair as black as ebony!"
In the spring, as flowers bloomed in soft breezes and birds sang in the trees, the Queen gave birth to a baby girl with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, eyes as blue as bluebells, and hair as black as ebony. They named her Snow White. But shortly after Snow White was born, the Queen fell ill and died.
The kingdom was devastated by the loss of their beloved Queen. But their grief soon turned to joy when they saw how beautiful the newborn princess was. The King loved his daughter dearly but he felt that she needed a mother so he decided to remarry.
The new Queen was a very beautiful woman, but she was extremely vain, cruel and selfish. She was a woman the King had met in the woods. Unknownst to him, she was a witch who had deceived him with her dark magic. She was in lead with an evil warlock named Felix who was, long ago, banished by another king. He gave the new Queen her powers which in exchange for them, she would help him raise an army that would destroy his kingdom.
The resource of her powers was a magic mirror which was her most prized possession. Everyday she would stand in front of it and asked this question,
"Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Among the ladies in this land,
Who is the fairest of them all?"
The mirror, glowed and shimmered by the Queen's summons, replied, "You, my Queen, are the fairest of them all that no one could be compared to your beauty."
"Of course I am. Who else is there?" said the Queen. She was so happy and content because she knew that the magic mirror could only speak the truth.
As the years passed, Snow White was growing up into a young girl. By the time she was ten, with her snow-white skin, rosy-red lips, blue eyes, and ebony-black hair, she was even more beautiful than the Queen. She was so kind-hearted that everyone in the land could not help but adore her.
After some time, the King was called away on business.
"Please don't go, father." Snow White begged.
"I'm sorry, my little Snow White, but as the King, I must go."
The little princess hugged her father tearfully. He hugged her back and patted her head.
"Don't worry, I'll be back and your stepmother will take care of you while I'm gone."
Snow White felt a pair of hands come to her shoulders and pull her away from her father. It was the Queen, the new stepmother of the princess.
"I'll take good care of her." she said.
"I know you will, my Queen."
The King hugged his wife then turned to his daughter. He dropped a necklace in her hand.
"My wedding gift to your mother."
It was a silver chain with a pink diamond heart pendant.
"As long as you have that, your mother and I will be with you."
