Ranford parked in the wide and empty paking lot of St. Martin University. Stanford is definitely larger than SMU but their buildings are floors higher than Stanford.
He glanced at the envelope in the dashboard. It's half the usual square envelope of a letter. The gold wax of book held the tip of the envelope that he immediately ripped when he saw it.
He didn't take notice of the design and the new color of the wax Samuel used. He read the letter and halted when he thought of a question regarding the words used in the poem.
He need someone who writes a poem to understand it well. He might wrote a song before but it's years ago and definitely not poetic.
He's not dumb but he feels like there's more to it than he can see.
He didn't know where to start.
But it's Sam's defense and Ranford thought he might not be in the main library so he walked forward.
Thinking about the Main Library makes him regret not seeing the person behind the messages. He should've just took the risk. Lalo lang tuloy itong lumayo.
He walked past people in their formal attire. The defense is still on going but Samuel already finished his.
Ranford's instinct made him walk to the org room. And just as he expected, it's noisy. Full of people with balanced personality, parang ang banda lang nila.
But it's extra noisy this time.
He tried to knock but Eliot's laugh thundered in the whole room kaya hindi ito narinig.
Ranford shrugged and just opened the door. He was statued and unable to speak because someone's speaking. A girl he had never seen before.
No one noticed Ranford because all of them are in the right corner, taliwas sa posisyon ng pinto.
"Okay!" The girl, Heidi, shouted and stifled a laugh. "Are you really for your reward!" She shouted and get the paperbag on the floor.
They're celebrating.
"Mr. I'll kneel and do everything for chocolate, I'm giving you this marvelously delicious Malteser for a longer life span!"
Everyone cheered but Cana's grunt is louder. "Hoy, may diabetes yan! Hala ka Heidi, papatayin mo na ata President namin dapat nagsabi ka para kape na dinala namin at hindi na lunch!"
"Mang-aagaw ng regalo! Parehas tayo ng binili!" Eliot shouted and grabbed his gift on the floor beside his feet.
"Malteser din?" Samuel asked and laughed.
Doon palang natauhan si Ranford. His jaw tensed from what he's hearing.
"Every other day dapat yan ha!" Tiffany said.
The wind striked and the door Ranford is holding for a while now creaked and opened wider.
