It was a nice warm night. Maka had flew all the way back to the northern shore of Kyushu although she didn't celebrate the holiday, she wished to make her daughter and best friend happy. Of course, she had let Storine come as well. She had been dating them for a while now. She wanted to make their first Christmas together special.
The family was warmed up in plenty of blankets. It was Christmas even and there was snow in the streets. An old Christmas movie playing in the background that Satoko found as a disc in the attic. Maka had let out a nice sigh as she had looked out the window to see the snow. "I'm so glad I decided to come stay for the holidays. spending time with you guys is so nice." Akki couldn't help but chuckle. "I finally got time to myself as well. Thank goodness I have a school break. I don't know what I'd do if I had to do work on Christmas Eve." She smiled and twirled her platinum hair.
Storine sat on the floor looking out the window as their tail swayed back n' fourth. Maka cupped her cheek and smiled, considering the height difference, Storine was laying on Maka's shoulder. Maka looked down and snorted before covering her mouth. "Hun... you look like a puppy" she teased. Storine smiled at Maka, at this point, Storine was more casual about Maka being a playful tease, not taking it to heart as she knew this brunette would never hurt them. "God, do I really?" "Yes, its adorable too! Like a puppy seeing snow for the first time." She had exclaimed before kissing Storine's forehead.Akki had rolled her eyes, in a sense of tenseness. It's not as if she didn't like Storine. Hell, she even thought Storine and her mother were somewhat cute together. It was her being protective, people could be mischievous and you never know what their actual goals could be, it's as if meeting people with blank masks and the mask can only come off when they backstab you. I'm sure Maka had learned that with her past relationship a couple years back. But who needs to worry at this moment? It's Christmas Eve and she wouldn't ruin the celebration over her trust issues.
Maka was giving Storine small kisses on their forehead. She was happy to be able to show affection to her loved ones instead of being stuck in Manchester for this time of year, feeling rather lonely. In a high rise apartment while drinking wine by yourself is not the way to go. Storine began kissing all over Maka's round face as Maka chuckled. "B-Baby stop that, it tickles~!" She laughed as Storine only continued. Akki had huffed before flipping her light hair and picking up her cup of hot coco off the window seal. "And this is where I take my leave, Too Romantic. I'll be, talking to Renshio over the phone if you need me." She said before walking upstairs to her bedroom.Satoko let out a soft sigh over on the sofa, looking up at the TV. "I rummaged through the attic for a solid hour for a movie just for you two to hardly watch it..-" Maka walked over to her before sitting down right next to her. "Awe its okay Sato, we can re watch it if you'd like. To be fair it was nice but I got distracted by the snow-" she chuckled nervously, feeling Storine sit next to her and wrap their arms around her waist before smiling. "I'd love to watch some movies. Of course we don't have to replay the entire movie we just watched." They chuckled as Satoko grabbed another CD from the side of the couch. "It's getting late, a few more movies wouldn't hurt."
she smiled innocently as she out it in the player, watching the intro. "I'll go grabs some blankets for us!"It was late at night, the lights were dimmed, the most noticeable thing being the holiday lights flashing from the Christmas tree. Maka was cuddled up to Storine while watching the end credits of the movie. Satoko had fallen asleep a while ago which left just them. They both decided to be quiet since they could both hear Akki talking from upstairs.
"That was a lovely movie, wasn't it?" Storine said as they looked down at Maka and smiled from ear to ear. The brunette moved Storine's hair out of their face and behind their ear, staring into their eyes, but not for too long. She couldn't help but smile softly from how happy Storine look as she let out a little chuckle. "Oh yes, I loved it so much! The main character reminded me of you..~" she complimented Storine before leaning on their chest.
Storine picked her up bridal style and took her back to the window, it was still snowing outside but it was just darker, on closer inspection they could both see the bright full moon.
Maka gave Storine a small kiss, although it wasn't too passionate, more slow and romantic. "I'm so glad I decided to date you... you're so much fun to be around, and you simply make me so happy. I just wanna spend this Christmas with you, and make it last forever."Those words seemed to strike Storine in a positive manner, you could see them blushing as their tail began wagging as they couldn't help but smile from Maka's words. They messed with their collar nervously, trying to reply. "I-I could say the same! You're a sweet and kind lady and I don't know what I'd do without you! I love you so much." Storine said, getting quite sweaty as they were trying to hide something, but Maka decided to shrug it off as butterflies. Storine took a deep breath and sighed. "I... was going to give this to you on Christmas Day, but I think you deserve this present now.."
Maka tilted her head, wondering what it was as she chuckled. "Okay sweetie!" Maka said as Storine hesitantly walked over to the Christmas tree, grabbing a wrapped present in the shape of a tiny heart, it had the same green wrapping paper as everything else, saying "Merry Christmas" all over it. Storine walked back to Maka and gave it to her "I hope you like it. Merry Christmas, Baby.." They said as they picked her up and sat her in their lap. Maka smiled and slowly began opening it.
A velvet heart shaped box was under it, she nearly teared up before looking up at Storine."What...? No... this as to be a joke!" She chuckled, but Storine only took the box out of her hands and opened it before her eyes, a diamond ring laid inside, it was decorated with a specially made red rose with a diamond in the middle, the rest was white gold as diamonds scattered around it in a lovely pattern, behind the ring was a picture of Storine and Maka on their first date together which was in the winter.
This brought Maka to tears as Storine teared up as well. "Maka, you are the love of my life. You've been there when I was upset, and had no one to go to. I just love everything about you. Your hair, your face, the way you hold me, the way you cook, the way you smile at me in the morning, how you're always so sweet to me. I know it's like one in the morning but... will you marry me...?" Maka looked up at them, before looking at the ring and picture and nodding frantically as tears streamed down her face.
"You're the love of my life Storine, of course I'd marry you..!" She smiled before pulling Storine in for a passionate yet romantic kiss, feeling the light seep in on their tired eyes from the snow and street lights.
It was a special Christmas, a very special on in fact. Maka won't be able to keep her hands off of Storine while Akki and Satoko open their presents. She wished to break the news to everyone right there and right now, but for now, she'll just hold Storine in her arms while looking at the pretty snow.
