[A/N: Eren is the only one from SnK who's gonna be in this story whoops. I'm gonna have other nerd references so bear with me if you don't understand 'em. I apologize.]
"Religion is first hour? Ugh..." I mumbled quietly to myself as I eyed the schedule taped to the inside of my locker.
I sighed and scanned the books neatly stacked up, making sure I wasn't forgetting anything. I nervously walked to religion, sitting down by a brown haired boy.
I didn't pay much attention to him, really. We were both focused on getting ready to take notes, or read from the textbook, or whatever. The boy must've noticed I was nervous, because he grabbed my pencil from me and sat it down on the desk so I would stop chewing on it.
"I'm Eren," he said, extending a hand.
"Uh, I'm Lea," I replied, taking his hand and shaking it. I dropped my hand back into my lap. "I'm not even religious, but apparently this is the best school in the area, so my parents enrolled me here. Fun."
"Yeah, same for me," Eren said.
I shrugged and pushed my hair back behind my ear.
Everyone stopped what they were doing when the teacher walked in.
She introduced herself, and all that. But someone in the front row had the bright idea we all share something about ourselves as well as our names. And of course, everyone thought that was a fantastic idea.
I only picked out a few names that belonged to the people I thought were the coolest.
Andrew, Lily, Ally, Maya, and, well, Eren. All of them except Eren had been together at this school since kindergarten.
English was next.
Me and Eren's names were right next to each other alphabetically, so our lockers were next to each other and we sat by each other in most every class.
At lunch, I had no idea where to sit.
"Hey, Lea! Over here! A voice called. I looked around, and saw a girl from my first hour class waving.
I shyly sat down next to her. "You're Ally, right?"
"Yep, that's me! You remember everyone else, right?"
"Sorta."
Eren sat down next to me. "Hey, Lea."
"Oh. Hi."
I dumped out my lunch bag onto the table, jumping a bit when Ally decides to hit my sandwich with a burrito.
"Huh?"
"Tradition," she said with a giggle.
"Oh... Okay."
Everything at this table was so confusing. And it got even more confusing when a kid grabbed the paper sack I'd brought.
Everyone started aggressively moving their chairs (and themselves) away from him.
"That's Eli," Ally said. "He enjoys, for some reason, filling bags with food and air, then popping them."
"Oh."
"At least wait until we get outside," the kid next to him said.
"Fine," mumbled Eli.
Eren's eyes widened when I pulled a 3DS out of my pocket.
"Is that... the A Link Between Worlds limited edition 3DS?"
"...Yeah," I said, flipping it open and starting up Oracle of Seasons.
"Wow, I wanted it really bad!"
I smiled shyly and hummed the starting screen music.
"Looks like there's another couple already," chuckled a girl sitting across from Ally. I ignored her, opening the first save file.
"Ah, give them a break, Lily."
"I ship them."
I shifted in my seat, uncomfortable with everyone staring at us.
"What about you, Maya?"
"I could see it working out."
I slid down in my seat, lifting the 3DS to cover my face.
Eren silently ate, watching me play the game.
"The retro games are cool," he said.
"Yeah."
