I laughed. “Well I’m legally taken by my boyfriend!”
He smiled. “Yeah, yeah I’m just messing with you.”
“Soo where exactly are we going?”
“Just around LA.”
“Won’t people recognize you?” I said.
“Maybe. Maybe not.” He shrugged.
I looked at him funny. “Whatever, then.”
“So, tell me about yourself.” He started. “What brings you out to LA?”
“My dad.” I scoffed.
“Is this your first time visiting him?”
“Yes. And hopefully the last.”
He gave me a funny look. “I don’t want to be pushy, but…why?”
I felt bad. Not because I’d put Logan in an awkward position, but I also told Kendall I didn’t want to tell him…yet I somehow found Logan easier to trust.
“It’s kind of complicated.” I said. Simple, yet to the point.
Logan bit his lip and nodded. “I get it if you don’t want to say anything.”
The truth is I wanted to. I wanted to tell him every detail starting from the very first memory. “My dad used to abuse my mom when I was little. She finally kicked him out for good and he moved here. Haven’t seen him since. Until now.”
Logan was quiet for a moment. “I’m really sorry-I shouldn’t have asked.”
I shook my head and looked straight ahead of me. “Nah, it’s fine. Just….don’t tell anyone, okay?”
“Of course not.” He smiled.
