Broken

Prologue:

My world was once a peaceful place. A place filled with laughter and fun but like a wise man once said, "All good things must come to an end..."

My story begins in a place unfamillair to many, but a place I no doubt will remember forever.

It all started on a vivid, saturday afternoon. I knew this day was going to be extra special because this would be the day were I'd finally get the chance to see my newborne sister, Katy.

I saw a door open slowly and there stood my father. He smiled for a moment and then said, in a quiet tone,
"You can come in now." Once I'd heard this I didn't hesitate. I swiftly lept out of my chair and followed my father into the room.

When I first had entered the room, I saw my mother but in her arms was Katy. My heart stopped for a moment when I saw her. I couldn't just sit here! I had to hold her for myself.
"Mummy."I said, still quite nervous to ask,
"What is it, sweetie."She replied in a calming tone,
"Me hold Katy?"I didn't hesitate. I saw my parents take a quick glance at eachover until my mother noded and said,
"Okay but you have to be gentle." She slowly gave Katy to me and trying to be as gentle as possible, I held her in my arms...

"...Katy..."

...The ground started to quake...

...I heard screaming from not to far away...

...Part of our home crumbled into peices...

...What was happening?

...Was anyone safe anymore?

My father ran outside to inspect what was happening but when he ran back in he looked more worried than ever. He quickly grabbed a weapon and prepared to fight.
"NO!"
"I won't let you go alone!"My mother shouted at my father, attempting to stand up but she was still to weak from giving birth. My father sighed and said,
"Fine, but we all go together."

I was to confused to understand what was really going on but I could tell by the looks on my parents faces that this was bad. My father helped my mother stand up and grabbed Katy. We all ran out the door, my father leading the way, he said he had heard rumours about the dragons wanting revenge on the oni and that this meant war.

While trying to hide and survive this war, we came across these escape pod things. The escape pods were a great way to travel between realms and escape from somewhere fast.

We had finally arrived at our escape pod it was a very tight squeeze but we all fit in there. My father stood outside the pod and gave Katy to my mother but his face showed he was upset. This made everyone think for a moment until my father pressed the button and locked the door to the escape pod.
"What are you doing?"My mother shouted, with a tear in her eye,
"I'm sorry about this."My father said,
"Daddy?"I said, starting to cry, as the escape pod started to move. I caught a glimpse of my father fighting some dragons until....

....The dragons were to strong...

...They devoured him...

....I knew from this moment on....

....I would never be the same....
