Hot springs

DAY 1: 8/29

  "Are you excited?" Aria asked looking at me expectantly. We were packing our bags getting ready for our trip.  I turn 21 in two days, every year on my birthday My Family makes it a point to go on a trip. some years it's just a day trip to the nearest beach, sometimes it'll be an overnight trip. This time it's two weeks at a cabin in the woods near some natural springs that run into a river and waterfall with extra family this time.  I look up at Aria after I zip my bag shut,  she is watching me inquisitively. " I Don't know. these trips always seem to go south," I tell her.  She smirks, "Yeah but that's why we made sure that we rented three of the cabins for the family and the two rooms in the main cabin for me and you."  I chuckle, "Yep sounds right we got to separate them to have a good time." we finished packing and threw our bags into the back of my Jeep, it was going to be four deep when we left from our parent's house.  We run back inside our apartment to grab a few last things and lock up. Before we lock up we stand at the door running through the lists we made. I ask her, 

                                        "you got everything?"       "yes, you?"          "seems so"

          We head out locking the door behind us. I toss her the keys, "I don't drive this early".  She laughs and climbs up into the driver's side. It is about 5 AM and the sun and moon are both kissing the edge of the sky.  We have a Spa appointment about halfway between here and the cabin at 7 AM. leaving from my dad's the drive to the appointment is about an hour and a half.    I call Lana she answers and we put each other on speakerphone. I hear my other sister, Josie, in the background singing to her music. Lana and Josie are twins, they turn 18 next month.  I tell them they need to be ready when we get there. "We are ready, our bags are by the door. how far are you?" "5 minutes." 

                                                                                 5 MINUTES LATER...

            As we park in the yard close to the front porch the girls come out and shove their bags into the back area of the Jeep.  Like me and Aria they each have a bag they bring to their seats, these are our trip bags.  we fill them with snacks, entertainment, our purse/ wallet, and anything else we feel we will need on the drive.   Before we all load back into the Jeep we run back in to use the restroom and recap the plan with our parents.  In an hour my parents, younger siblings,   aunts, uncles, and my cousins will take off from my parent's house and head for the cabin. We load back in with Aria driving, Me shotgun, and the twins in the back. as Aria puls out I blue tooth to the radio and pull out my sketch pad. I put my bare feet on the dash and use my legs as a table. I start sketching, no sooner than we turn off the road my parents live on do I hear a flick of a lighter in the back. I turn to see Josie sparking up a joint it smelled sweet. Like the honeysuckle rose CBD blend Aria and I  sell in our shop.  Aria and I run 3 businesses out of one building we have the holistic shop (Naturally us), The dispensary (healing vapors), and the Cafe (cool beans).   "Is that our product?" Josie answers, "Yeah kind of,  Brayden bought some dab wax from the dispensary and we twisted it around the CBD joint we bought from the holistic shop to give it a little kick." I look at Ari, "Fuck it, it's my birthday." I take a hit and pass it to Ari who takes a baby hit. we crack the windows and turn up the playlist I made. The hour and a half drive went by fast, we arrived for our appointments in time to pick up breakfast.  After we ate we went to the spa, we were getting manicures and pedicures. 

           The spa was great, we were all seated in massage chairs with foot basins immediately.  we all got our toes painted and a full treatment pedicure. then we each got manicures and acrylic nails.  when we got back in the car we all showed off our nails. I had gotten shorter stiletto-shaped nails that were black and honey-colored with a honeycomb pattern on my thumbs and a french tip that looked like honey dripping down the black background.  Lana and Josie got long almond cut blue and pink nails,  where one color was the background and the other was a french tip with an ombre of the colors on the thumbs. Lana had blue details and a pink background while Josie had the opposite. Aria went with a nude pink color base and gold tips, no other design just tips.  I remind everyone to put on their seatbelts, then turn and crank the engine.
