when you cuddle for the first time

"Well, tonight was fun." You said as the door closed as your friends all headed out of Rachel's apartment. "Did you have fun?"

Rachel was biting her lip as she stared at you for a few seconds, only to release it from her teeth when she reached over to brush a lock of hair behind your ear.

"Of course I did. I was with you."

Your heart skipped a beat when her hand wrapped around yours.

You've known each other for a few months but you've only been together for a couple of weeks now.

Despite feeling the brush of her hand on yours a few times before, it feels different now that you're a couple.

Every touch makes your entire chest fill with butterflies and you know it does the same for her.

"What time is it?"

"Almost midnight? Why?" She asked as she brushed her thumbs across your knuckles.

"I hate to do this but I have to get going."

"What? No, you can't go."

She dropped your hand so she could wrap her arms around you to hug you so tightly that you couldn't leave but not tight enough to hurt you.

"Rachel, I have work in the morning. Besides, I live a few blocks away. It's going to take me a few minutes to get home."

"Are you tired?"

You shook your head.

"So, you'd just go back to your apartment? All alone? Where you'd spend who knows how long wide awake, missing me? When you could just stay here?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." She smiled. "I'm sure. Stay. We can watch some movies together until you get tired."

"Okay. That sounds fun." You grinned and sat back against the sofa as she turned on the tv, flipping through the channels in search of something to watch.

"Oh, I love that show!" You blurted out as she reached the channel that your favorite show was on.

"Okay. Then we watch this."

She put the remote down before you could argue with her about wanting to watch something she also liked.

"Don't say anything. Just enjoy it, I know I will." She smiled at you.

You looked away from her gaze to watch the show but every second you stared at the tv, you felt her eyes on you.

You could feel her staring at you with that sweet gaze that she always looks at you with, according to all of your friends.

"I can feel you staring."

Her cheeks turned red and she bit her lip to hold back a grin and pretended to watch tv with you for a few minutes.

But after a little while, she found herself getting a little bored.

But she wouldn't dare tell you because she knows how much you like this show, judging by the happy smile on your face, and that's all that she wants to see.

So, she decided that she'd occupy herself in another way; by holding you close.

She cleared her throat a little before scooting closer and closer to you until she was right beside you.

"Rachel?" You giggled as you realized how close she was. "What are you up to?"

She didn't say anything when your eyes met. Instead, she wordlessly put her arm around you and brought you into her embrace.

You put your head on her chest and she laid her chin on it, the scent of your shampoo filling her lungs and causing her heart to skip a beat.

She closed her eyes right away, feeling as though every piece was falling into place at that very moment.

"You don't mind cuddling with me, right?" She asked, her voice just as soft as the look in her beautiful eyes. "It's the first time we're cuddling. I want to make sure you're comfortable with it."

You shook your head as you gazed up at her.

"No. I like it." You replied as you let out a contented sigh. "You keep me warm and make me feel safe."

She smiled to herself before kissing the crown of your head.

That's all she wants.

"Good. Then, maybe, we'll cuddle for the rest of the night. How's that sound, honey?"

The sweet pet name made your heart flutter.

You've always loved it but you love it even more when it's falling from your girlfriend's lips, especially when she's holding you so close and that warmth and happiness you feel only grows stronger.

"I'd love that so much."

She smiled and kissed your head once more.

"I'm crazy about you." She whispered.

"I'm crazy about you too, Rach." You said as you closed your eyes, a smile on your face as you realized that, in all of your life, you've never felt as happy as you do right now.

And it's all because of her.

You're falling for her. Hard.

And you're so happy that she feels the same because you truly are so crazy about her.
