You turned back onto your side yet again, trying to be as still and as quiet as you could be so you wouldn't disturb Rachel.
Tonight, she's staying over at your apartment.
But she has work in the morning.
One glance at the clock told you that it was actually only a few hours until she had to head out the door.
And it was even more dreadful when you remembered you had to do the same around the same time.
You haven't slept at all yet tonight and it was already two am, which stressed you out.
You let out a loud groan of frustration and only a few seconds later, Rachel's hand gently fell onto your shoulder.
You jumped, a startled gasp falling from your lips as you turned around to face her.
"Y/N? Are you okay?" She asked tiredly.
Sitting up in bed against the pillows, she turned on the lamp you kept on the table close to the side of the bed she was sleeping on.
She rubbed her eyes, a sleepy yawn escaping her lips as she adjusted to the light.
"I woke you, didn't I?" You asked, looking and feeling guilty.
"That doesn't matter. Why are you awake? We have work in a few hours."
She reached out to cup your cheek, brushing her thumbs across your skin comfortingly.
"Don't remind me." You groaned. "I haven't slept at all yet. I don't know why but I just feel so restless and I can't get to sleep."
"Oh, baby, I'm sorry." She frowned.
"It's okay. I think you should have my bed tonight and I'll take my sofa. I want you to get some sleep."
"Are you serious?" She chuckled. "No way. I wanted to stay tonight to be close to you. I don't want to be a room apart. Just lay here, everything will be okay."
You didn't know if she was right about that last part.
But you couldn't say no considering she was staying here tonight to be with you and clearly didn't want you to leave her side.
"Okay." You sighed.
"I'll hold you and we can just talk about whatever you want until you fall asleep."
"If I fall asleep."
"You will, baby. It's only a matter of time." She promised before pulling you in for a short but sweet kiss.
She laid down and you did the same after her, laying your head on her chest.
"There you go. I've got you." She said and kissed your head comfortingly.
"Talk to me."
"About?"
"I don't know... anything. I don't care what it is. I just enjoy the sound of your voice. It comforts me."
She smiled a little and kissed your head softly before tightening her grip on you.
"Okay. You know, Monica thinks we should all get together in a few days. She said she'll make dinner and we can all just hang out, forget about work and all of our stresses."
"That sounds wonderful. It's just what I need." You replied as she brushed her fingers through your hair.
"Maybe we should start staying the night more often together. Just so if you have more nights like these, I can hold you and help you, like I am now."
You chuckled tiredly.
It was just an excuse to have you by her side more often, whether that's at your place or hers' and Monica's.
But that was perfectly fine to you.
You'd take any excuse you could get if it meant having more nights like these with her.
"Are you getting sleepy?"
You nodded wordlessly.
"Good."
"Keep playing with my hair." You sleepily mumbled and she happily did just that.
"Okay, sweet girl. I've got you."
Her words of comfort and her touch soothed you so very much, finally helping to soothe you and bring you enough contentedness to help you begin to drift off to sleep.
She played with your hair as you started to fall asleep, whispering softly about how much she adores you and how she already knew your future was so bright.
She was already planning it all out in her head because she already knows that you're the one, swearing that every minute she spends with you she only falls even deeper in love with you.
