Wally was sitting alone in the commons room of Mount Justice. He was at the table, with an open notebook and a few papers scattered around in front of him. He fidgeted with the pencil in one hand, bored and almost frustrated as he looked down at the half-filled page of the open notebook.
The speedster was behind on homework, and back home was too distracting to keep his focus on the schoolwork he needed to catch up on. So he opted to get it all done at Mount Justice instead, while the rest of the team was off training for the day.
The atmosphere was too boring now, however, and Wally put down the pencil and rubbed his face with his hands, letting out a frustrated sigh. "This sucks," he muttered aloud. Suddenly, the ginger heard the sound of energy from a portal opening up behind him before closing, and the clacking of shoes walking up to him. He felt the person practically flop onto his back, arms looping around Wally's neck, and he heard the light sound of purring.
"I need attention."
Wally rolled his eyes and turned his head back to look at Klarion, the witch boy giving his best pouty expression. Teekl stood carefully balanced on the witch boy's shoulders, before gracefully walking off and stepping onto the table. The speedster shook his head and managed to shrug Klarion off his back. "And I need to focus right now. Go annoy Rob, that's why there's three of us." Klarion let out a whiney sigh in response and pulled up a chair to sit next to his boyfriend.
"You know the team gets pissy when I try to join training sessions I'm not invited to," Klarion responded, rhythmically tapping sharp black nails on the table. Wally rolled his eyes again and picked his pencil back up.
"You wouldn't be banned from watching if your commentary on everyone's mess-ups weren't distracting." Wally gave a teasing smile and Klarion pouted again as Teekl walked across the table and carefully jumped down into Klarion's lap. The witch boy's hand moved away from tapping at the table and began to gently run his nails through the familiar's fur. "But seriously, I need to get this stuff done," he continued, smile falling. "And as much as I'd love to give you some attention, this is more important right now."
Klarion playfully scoffed and a hand rose to his chest, giving a mock-hurt expression. "How can anything be more important than giving love and affection to one of your lovely boyfriends?" Teekl seemed to let out a sigh, having seen this routine between some combination of the three countless times. "If it frees up your time any quicker, I'm sure I can help you out."
"Using your chaos powers to get my homework done isn't gonna be much help, the teacher for this class would know if I wasn't the one who did it." Wally looked back down at his notebook, skimming what he'd written so far, before continuing to write. "And I doubt you know much about Chemistry."
"Besides the chemistry between you, me, and birdie?" Klarion questioned with a teasing smirk, leaning closer to Wally with a mischievous glint in his dark red eyes. The speedster chuckled and blushed lightly before gently shoving the other away.
"Hey, I'm supposed to be the one with the cheesy flirting lines in this relationship," Wally laughed.
"Oh please, as if I don't hear the same amount of cheesiness coming from birdie at least once a day."
As the two began to affectionately bicker, commotion could be heard slowly coming up from far behind them. Going quiet, the two as well as Teekl turned to look behind them, seeing the rest of the team as well as Black Canary and Red Tornado walking into the commons room.
"Looks like training's over," Wally said.
"Then my work here is done," Klarion responded with a smirk. Teekl moved to jump onto and rested around the witch boy's shoulders as he stood up, brushing his coat off to get rid of any wrinkles, before giving a quick kiss to Wally. "Thanks for indulging in me, love." With a wink Klarion ran off, heading straight for Dick and practically tackling the boy wonder into a hug, beginning to whine about "how bored he was".
Wally laughed and shook his head, turning back to his homework. Feeling a lot more relaxed, the speedster continued his work, finally being able to push past the previous boredom and frustration and get the work done at a much quicker pace than he was before.
