"Oh boy."

Those were the words Jaune had found suitable when trying to accurately describe the scenery opening up to him.

After experiencing one too many close encounters with death on a single day, the young man was just about ready to pass out. To his dismay, the journey to a proper bed would still be a long and arduous one. The ship transporting him and his teammates had landed atop the docks located at the far end of the academy's perimeter, right beside a gigantic garden and a good few dozen meters away from the nearest school building. As all of his companions gradually recovered from the wear and tear of their battles to admire the vast, sprawling beauty all around them, Jaune stared longingly at the comfy looking grass, wondering if he could sneak a quick nap before anyone else would notice.

Again, to his dismay, he was quickly noticed by Oscar, who had been assigned to give them a tour around the academy's facilities. The janitor had also made sure to mention an important 'opening ceremony', insisting on the fact that it was mandatory for all students. Jaune heavily questioned the logistics of having a group of amateurs fight for their lives against monsters in a forest only to then force them to walk around the school, but he figured the problem had to do with him more than anything else.

After all, out of anyone else in his group, he was the only one that appeared completely out of it, even after having had the opportunity to rest and eat a small lunch inside the ship itself. Over the prior couple of hours, he had repeatedly felt in over his head, so he dared not question the proceedings, though his mouth let a couple of gloomy sighs escape nonetheless.

Making his way through the legendary Beacon Academy for the first time, Jaune came to slowly understand the awe and wonder exhibited by his teammates. Ruby was acting particularly giddy, to the point that she sometimes screamed over Oscar's voice and tried to explain some obscure fact about the school... only to be promptly scolded by Weiss. Yang appeared more focused on trying to make conversation with Blake, Ren and Nora than to paying attention to Oscar, though as she spoke she allowed her gaze to wander in all directions. Ren was stuck in a very loud Nora and Yang sandwich with a resigned look on his face, while Blake stood aside and was actually trying to pay attention to the janitor, something which Jaune found very respectable. As for Pyrrha... wait, where is...?

"Are you feeling alright?"

"Wow, hey!"

Pyrrha had been walking right next to him the whole time and he hadn't even noticed. Jaune sensed embarrassment creeping up from his stomach, not so much because he felt self conscious about being close to Pyrrha, but more because he was ashamed of being so self-centered that he didn't realize someone had been looking out for him... again. Shaking his head in an attempt to regain some level of alertness, Jaune prepared to address her:

"I'm fine, just a bit tired is all. You must be very excited, right? I mean, this is it, we've made it. Beacon Academy."

In his head, there would have been a dramatic pause right after he spoke those words and a soothing orchestra would give way to a sweeping shot where both of them would reflect upon the adventures that had brought them to that point. Unfortunately for Jaune, he was currently not inside one of his favorite shows, so instead Pyrrha immediately responded, in a puzzled tone:"Why are you asking me? Shouldn't you also be excited to be here?"
