Multiple missiles are seen launching from submarines while astronauts watch from the space station. They witness one blow up in the atmosphere which is also seen by Rika, whose phone conversation with Shizuka is cut short by the EMP. After the electronic eqipment fails at the Takagi house, Saya realizes that it was an EMP blast and informs the others. The blast disables Shido's bus, and he crashes into the barrier keeping "them" away from the Takagi house. "They" soon reach the house and a fight ensues, resulting in a fire that burns much of the Takagi estate. Souichiro decides they will fight their way to the neighbor's house, and he tells Takashi and the others to escape. The group goes to the garage and fights "them" while Maddo finishes fixing the Humvee. He does as much as he can and the group leaves the mansion. As they drive through the city, Takashi tells the others they will search for his and Rei's parents. The group is later seen standing outside of the shopping mall.
