~ POV: Jeff ~
"Oh come on! It'll be fun!"
I shook my head. Almost everything Alex said would be fun ended up being a bad idea that went horribly wrong. "No way! Amusement parks are so creepy at night, especially abandoned ones."
Alex shrugged. "Your loss. I'll just go myself."
I sighed. He knew this would work, it always did. He would pretened like he didn't care about going alone, and it concerned me enough that I would go with him. I knew better than to trust him doing something like this alone. "Fine, I'll come with you."
"Cool. Let's get going, then."
We hopped on our bikes and pedaled toward the local amusement park. Or at least, what used to be the local amusement park. Now it was abandoned and left to rot, the old rides slowly decaying into the ground. I knew my parents used to go there when it was operating. It fact, that was where they went on their first date. That made it even creepier to me.
"Come on!" Alex said, propping his bike against the fence. "I think we can climb it."
"Alright." I leaned my bike beside his and started climbing. As soon as I landed on the other side, a chill ran up my spine. I knew something was off. "Alex, somethings seriously wrong. We should go back."
My friend landed beside me. "Don't be a wuss! We've already made it this far, why not look around a bit? Nothing will go wrong!"
"Sure, and I'm Steve Urkel."
As we walked past the old ticket booth, a crow called out from a tree. Another crow replied to it, replicating the eerie sound. We'll be fine, I reminded myself. What's so dangerous about a park?
Boy, was I wrong.
