The sky was now dark and the moon had taken its place. Streets now empty and the roads silent, I left my wall in its deserted state. Stars glittered and twinkled above me as I shuffled back towards my dim flat. The buildings stood tall in the moonlight, laughing in their victory as they always did.

My feet carried me away from the battlefield and although the city lights lit up what once was bright with the sky, I missed my sun. The stars danced in the heavens as they celebrated the battle of the sun, the moon lit up their dancefloor.

I closed my door once I reached the place I called home and left the party that unfolded behind me. I was the only person who knew of this ongoing war.

But I will always watch as the sun falls and loses its battle.
