Chapter 5

Wow I thought. The food here smells amazing "where do you wanna sit?" I asked.Nico looked at me like I was an idiot "you need to sit there" he ponted to a crowed bench "thats the hermes cabin ..you need to sit with them every meal intill you're clamed by your godly parent" "oh..alright" I sat down with the kids at the hermies cabin and looked over and saw Nico sitting by himself .I felt bad ..why did he have to sit alone ? I thought. And..why were the girls aross the room looking at him and gossiping ? They must be the popular crowd here "thats the Aphrodite cabin" someone said I turned and saw a boy with short hair wearing a chb t-shirt and a boy next to him obviously was his twin brother "you're travis right?" "You are correct and this is my brother Conner "hello new camper" he smiled at me devilishly for some reason I had a feeling percy was right..dont trust these guys "how long have you been here? " I asked ignoring the fact Conner was going threw a bag filled with cans of shaving cream "about 7 to 8 years but..whos counting?" "Yeah.." "so..what were you doing with the son of Hades ?" Travis asked. "Y..you mean Nico? Were friends" I said they looked at me as if I was from a differnt planet "..alright..interesting.." "what?" "Nothing its just..now its gonna be harder to prank you" "w..what?" "Hes just kidding ..right Travis?" "Right" he winked at his brother . Do they think im an idiot? I thought. -----when Breakfast was over Travis and his brother Conner walked with me to the archery . I always wanted to try it .I did it once over the summer and after a while I started to finally hit the target .so hopefully I wont do too bad -- I went into the weopondry and picked out a simple brown archer set and then I started. I hit the target three times ..but it wasnt in the center.but at least I hit the target more then some of the rest of the kids. "Nice shot " I looked behind me and saw Percy ."oh..hey ..you practicing too?" "Yeah but..I prefer a sword " percy exclaimed ."and I perfer to not have scatches everywhere " I said .he laughed "you just gotta practice more thats all" "I dont know..I dont usually fight " "..are you a healer?" Percy asked "a what?" A healer you know..like a nurse " "oh..I dont know" "well,I know someone from the Apollo Cabin and im sure he can give you a try" "alright..thanks " he smiled "no problem"he picked up an arrow and adjusted it to his bow and the arrow hit the ground a few feet away .I couldnt help but laugh."yep..definitely stick to the sword" "good idea" Percy laughed. I notched another arrow and hit the target again while percy's arrow kept hitting the ground "..try aiming upward a little above the target" I suggested he tryed it and it still hit the ground "well..its closer to the target " I said trying to cheer him up he laughed "I guess, thanks though " "no problem " I notched another arrow but stoped when from the conner of my eye I saw him.. Nico was sword fighting with a dummy he seemed..frustrated I put my archery set away and walked over to him "hey..what are you doing? " I asked "practicing " "..practicing how to kill somebody? " I joked he scoffed at me and hit the dummy harder with the hilt of his sword I saw something driping off his arm my eyes widened "your bleeding.. " "im fine " he said and kept slicing his sword cutting the dummy's head off "c-come on " I took his arm and pulled him to a bench "what are you doing? " he asked with additude I took my water bottle and took a napkin from my pocket and started to wipe away the blood "im helping you, is that alright?" I asked he didnt answer he just started at me with curiosity and confusion I looked in his eyes for a moment then looked away and wiped away the rest of the blood from the cut and took out a small blue contanter in my pocket "why do you have that?" He asked I took out a band aid and put it carefully on his arm "im not a fighter..so..I carry this with me in case I get hurt ,now..that should do, but I recommend that you put some nerosporn on that cut so it heals faster " "...thanks " then he pulled his arm away and stood up, I also got up "hey.. wanna hang out? " I asked hesitantly "..why?" He asked "because, I'm still new here and you're one if the only people I know so, why not? " you sure you wanna-" "yeah I'm sure, come on " I walked toward the beach and he followed hesitantly I sat on the sand and waited once he sat down a few inches away I looked at him curiously "..so,tell me about yourself " I asked "..why do you wanna know? " "well..I cant be your friend if you dont tell me things about you " "..you wanna be friends..with me? " he looked surprised "yes, now tell me something about yourself" "..like what?" He asked "like..whats your favorite color? " he laughed a little "really?" "Just answer the question pleease " "black" he answered I rolled my eyes "of course " "what?" "Nothing " I said trying to sound as innocent as possible "..what about you?" "What about me? " I asked "..whats your favorite color? " "purple" I responded he nodded "do you have any siblings? " I asked "I have a sister named Hazel, you?" I looked down "I used to have a brother.." "..what happened? " he asked suddenly sounding conforting "he died..he was only 10" "im sorry " he said ,he sounded like he could relate, but I didn't ask "..I lost a sister once, when I was 11 " I didn't even ask him so I was a little surprised that he told me but glad that he had somewhat of a trust in me "what about your mom ?" He looked down "oh..sorry forget I asked I didn't know-" "its fine.." "..how did your brother die ?" He asked. "A monster attack" I said. he stared at me with..which looked like concern "do you know what it was?" He asked I shook my head "no,but it was horrifying it was 7 feet tall.. it looked almost like a shadow.. it had sharp teeth and claws.." "did it have wings? It could have been a fury " I shook my head again "no, it didn't have wings"
Nico suddenly started to look terrified yet uncomfortable.. "what? I asked?" "..I had a dream last night.. my father Hades..he warned me about you.. something to do with your family history I-I think he sent a- a special kind of monster after your family " I looked at him completely confused "what.. KIND of monster? " I asked a little scared now. Nico looked at me hesitantly "..Demons"
