Temptation

New Life

I looked at the positive test and froze on my spot. My hands fell to my stomach and somehow I could feel my baby there even though it was too early to feel anything. "I can't believe this!" Suhana walked over and hugged me tightly before she leaned down to my stomach, "Hi baby" Suhana spoke softly to my baby. My baby. I heard a knock on the door and quickly hid the pregnancy test in my purse. "Hey Bhaiyya wassup" Aryan gave us a strange look before innocently saying, "Cake" as he pointed down. I laughed at him and we walked down together to cut the cake.

I paced around my room wandering what to do. It had been two days since I found out I was pregnant. Suhana was good at keeping my secret but she didn't go an hour without telling me to tell Aryan. "He deserves to know" I said to myself as I internally debated on how to tell him. "Who deserves to know what?" Aryan said as he walked into my room. I whipped my head around so hard I got a whiplash and lost my balance. "Woah woah easy" Aryan said as he held onto me. I hummed lightly as he pulled me into a hug, "I would leave everything for this hug" I drew circles on his chest as I said, "What about Alina?" He pulled me away from the hug, "Is this why you've been so distant since the party?" I didn't answer. "Baby-" Baby. "Alina is history...she showed up all of a sudden after all these years and I was taken aback but you're my future and I love you" I smiled at his words and hugged him again.

I couldn't face him while telling him I'm pregnant so I burried my face into his chest. "I have to tell you something" I mumbled into his chest. "You might have to remove your face from my chest for that" I shook my head and his laugh shook his chest. "I'm late" I paused for him to say something. "For what?" I mentally slapped him for being so dumb. "My period is late idiot" I heard an "oh" before I continued, "I took a pregnancy test...well three of them" I felt Aryan freeze. "One was negative but two were positive, I think I'm pregnant" I buried my face further into his chest not knowing how I would react. I felt his arms tightened around me and his lips fell onto the top of my head. He planted a kiss before saying, "Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world" I pulled away from him with surprise, "What?" Aryan wiped my tears from my face, "What? You thought I wasn't going to be happy with the love of my life having my baby?" I broke into a smile but I also couldn't stop crying, "my emotions are a mess" Aryan laughed as he pulled me into a hug again, "I can see that" We stayed there holding each other in our arms.

I was panicking about telling the family but when I saw their reactions I realised I had nothing to worry about. We sat in the lawn, celebrating as a family for the new member. I looked up to the sky and thought about my parents. Congrats mama baba you're going to be grandparents. I looked towards my new family and knew that whatever happens, I will never be alone and this is now my new life. I placed my head on Aryan's shoulder and brought my hand to my stomach. New Life.
