Who would have knew the moment she said "She would rather die than ever feel again" would come true so quickly?

She went back in her seat, on the bench, with her friends. They were all joking around and laughing, Miriam chuckled along but she couldn't laugh out loud like she used to. Every time she would take in such amounts of oxygen it feels as if there were branches in her lungs, keeping her from contracting and expanding the muscles, and poked blood out of her.

"Mir! Why so low?" Mei's voice snapped the braided girls clouded mind, she reached an arm to Miriam and slung it across her shoulders forcing them to move closer. Miriam panicked as she could feel flowers start to bloom more in her, she wanted to cough but she had to hold it in. "Cheer up! I know finals are coming up but we can pass through it like a breeze!" "You can do it babe!" she shook the green palette teenager in encouragement.

It came to a surprise to the group of friends. None of them expected it. Miriam blamed herself for not keeping it in. A sudden rain of petals coughed out of Miriam after Mei shook her shoulders was the blame of the roar of concern. The more Miriam though about Mei's concern the more she coughed up flowers.

Green Roses.

Priya was the first to act on instinct, pulling out a handkerchief from her pocket and letting Miriam fall in her arms to help her. Tyler checked her pulse, it was beating more slowly the more the braided teen coughed. Abby was panicking, she wasn't sure what to do so she brought out a thin folder and started fanning her friend. Mei was there...shocked...confused...she tried to remember every medical diseases there were that could match Mir's disease right now. The red head grabbed a handful of the green rose petals and inspected them carefully, hints of blood and a few branches were seen from the group, when it hit the red panda.

Hanahaki Disease

But who does Miriam like? She never outwardly shown her romantic attraction to anyone else! Who?

"M-Mei" Miriam coughed up, ultimately snapping Mei out of her train of thought and putting her responsibility on her friend. She wanted to help her, the only cures she knows of is surgically removing the flowers from her lungs, having the love interest in question fall in love back, or...letting Mir die. She doesn't want to let Miriam die, she was her best friend! She can't afford losing her most loyal friend ever!

"Mir it's alright," Mei moved the hair out of Miriam's eyes while looking around frantically "W-We'll get you the hospital, d-deep breathes Mir, deep-"

"Mei listen" Miriam's voice was hush but audible enough "I...I don't w-want to get the s-surgery.."

"But Miriam you have too!" Mei's eyes were very close to tears, "O-or else you'll die!" Another cough was brought out of Miriam as she chuckled slightly, thinking this whole thing was a light-hearted joke.

"It's worth it than let myself deal with no attraction a-at all" Miriam said. Bloody flowers were now scattered on her shirt and on the ground, Abby and Tyler were trying to contact an ambulance, as Priya stayed to give the braided one some oxygen using the folder.

"Mir! You need to get the surgery," Mei placed Miriam's weak ones unto her own cheek, snuggling into it "I can't deal losing a friend like you..."

"I'll always be here Mei" Miriam's eyelids were now heavy, they started to droop more and threatening to fall "Physically and spiritually...I will always

...be

...there"

Miriam's hand went limp as her eyes slowly fell down, her head losing it's balance and tilting to the side, her breathing stopping completely as Priya could see more green roses bloomed from the insides of her mouth. Mei started screaming, tears pouring down like a waterfall, as she clutched Miriam's plaid green shirt. Mei was angry at herself. She didn't know who Miriam liked. She couldn't prevent this. She was blind from the signs. There was no wonder why Miriam kept on escaping to the bathroom on a daily basis. She couldn't say she cared about her deeply. SHe cherished her.

But it was too late...
Time really is a cruel person....
