(Haischool starts when students are in eighth grade so around 14-15 years old. It's the school after elementary. )
Kupla was walking to school. She didn't have to worry about being late, since she lived right next to the school. "Okay, lets do this! Lets go and meet sooo many people!" she thought to herself. She didn't actually believe she would get new friends, but as her catchphrase goes, "fake it 'till you make it. "
Kupla stepped on the gate and looked around the schoolyard. It was filled with absolute strangers, people she'd seen once or twice before and her old classmates. Great. No-one really caught her eye. They were all interesting enough to look at for the timebeing, but not interesting enough to go talk to.
"Excuse me, do you know where class 8D is supposed to be?" asks a friendly voice. "That's no stranger, I definitely know them. Wait, what the heck. My brain hurts, but no, it can't be. I don't understand. Why is xe asking me for help? They think I'm an absolute waste of space! Or so xe said, all flipping throughout elementary school!" she thought.
"Look, I know what you're thinking and I want to thoroughly apologize for my actions", Kino said," I really believe I have changed as a person and am willing to prove it to you." It wasn't enough. You see, it's not that simple. Kino had completely lost Kupla's respect and wasn't going to get it back anytime soon. "Look, I'll take that for now, because at the very least you understand that what you've done is wrong", Kupla admits. "Now, if I'm correct, class 8D is supposed to be around there", Kupla declares and points towards a teacher with a few students frolicking around them. "And by the way, I'm in the same class as you", Kupla said carefully.
The bell rung, everyone went to their classes' groups and started waiting for their teachers to stop chatting with each other so that they could start their first day of haischool. This was it, the first day. The day when almost everyone is trying their best to make a good impression of theirself, whether that is to a teacher or a fellow student. This day was going to decide how the rest of the schoolyear was going to go.
"Maybe I should forgive xem", Kupla thought, "they really do seem like they've changed. " Kupla was thinking about Kino and xis words. She wasn't even focusing on school or anything else. This was truly unlike her. Usually she ignores these things altogether, nevermind for just one schoolday! But of course, there wasn't really anyone who could've pointed this difference out, since Kupla had never had friends that caring.
Kino was doing perfectly fine. They were sitting with xis new friends. They'd met each other over summer break, after Kino broke contact with xis old friends. Kino was a changed man, truly so. Or at least in their own, slightly biased eyes.
"Attention, everyone! I have an announcement to make!" said the voice of one of the teachers, this time from the speakers, "From tomorrow onwards, school uniforms will be a requirement for entering school grounds, so make sure to get your one before leaving the school today!"
"Great, school uniforms? Why do we even need them?" complained Kino, to which one of xis friends responded to: "I heard that there was a problem with students from other schools coming to this school to harm people. Or so my sister said." "Oh", Kino said, thinking about their own past for a bit, not wanting to remember it and then responding, "that's a shame."
