Say my name and everything just stops. I don't want you like a best friend; only bought this dress so you could take it off.- Taylor Swift, Dress

"A movie premiere?!"

Lea nodded from where she sat across from Sam and Lina at the coffee shop. It was their weekly coffee hang out.

"He's seriously taking you to a movie premier?" Lina demanded, clearly shocked.

"I'm not going on the red carpet, though," she rushed in to add. "Just the movie itself and then the after party. And Tim says he won't let anybody interview me or anything."

Since Sam was too busy staring at her in disbelief, Lina spoke up. "Shouldn't he be going with his 'public girlfriend'?" she asked, using air quotes.

This appeared to break Sam out of her stupor. "Roxie's still touring," she pointed out, leaning over and resting her forearms on the table. "Homegirl, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You are not passing this up."

"Alright, how much did all this cost?" Lea asked, looking at the outfit he'd presented her with for the premiere

She didn't recognize the jewelry (consisting of a hair comb with gold butterflies on it, a necklace with a freshwater pearl pendant, and matching earrings) well enough to pinpoint the designer, but the jewelry had been in a Saks bag, which meant it hadn't been cheap.

She also didn't recognize the shoes, which were gold and molded into the shape of a rose to match the gold rose-shaped clutch in the unmistakable style of Judith Leiber, and her purses were so expensive Lea had never even bothered to look at the prices. More than the Matoshi dress, she knew that much. It was white—which was good because she'd always looked nice in white—, fairly low cut but not so much so she'd feel overly exposed, and it had green ivy detailing at the waist and for the sleeves. She knew how much Matoshi dresses like this one cost off the top of her head, and she knew they cost extra to get them made to measure the way he must've done (she was too short and too curvy for it to fit her otherwise), and she knew damn well he'd gone overboard.
