"Lovely dress, Charlene, where'd you get it" I ask, smiling at the woman in front of me.

It's my initiation party, but it's more like one of the fake fundraisers people throw. You know, the one's where people are really just talking business or don't actually care about the people there or what's going on.

"Thank you, it's one of a kind actually, extremely expensive" she says, smiling at me, poison laced throughout her words.

It's one of those harmless sentences, that aren't so harmless. Just a way to flaunt her money.

"Well it's gorgeous, say hi to your husband for me" I say, resisting the urge to smack her smug face.

The fact that I didn't care enough to hold a long conversation with her, and I only cared enough to say hi to her husband.

See, Charlene pushed me into a pool once. So I pushed her off a balcony. And both of us say it was an accident, though it clearly wasn't.

I walk over to one of the few people in this room that I actually like, Izzy.

"Eeek, I can't believe your the new head of the Belladonna mafia" she squeals, hugging me.

"Yeah me neither, it's like a dream" I say, looking at her outfit. She's wearing a sparkly purple dress, and purple eye shadow. It stands out.

Most people here are careful, trying to blend in. But Izzy wants to stand out, to be seen.

It's out of the ordinary, and I fucking love her for that.

"I absolutely adore your outfit by the way" I add.

"Omg thanks, you look amazing by the way, just..Belladonna" she says, smiling.

This makes me a little more happier than it should have, though it seems like a normal thing to say.

See, I have the same black hair, olive skin as my father and brother. I also have green eyes, inherited from my mother, though Lucas doesn't have them.

But that's not what Izzy means, she means beyond my physical characteristics. Everyone says the Belladonna's have a similar air around them, that defines them.

It means a lot that she can see that, because it means I am meant for this, despite what people are saying.

"Thank you," I say, and a mutual understanding passes between us.

"Hello, Harley" a voice to my left says, and I turn around.

It's Mr. Smith, and I resist the urge to scowl.

I despise this man, and if it weren't for his connections I would have put a bullet in his skull a long time ago.

"Hello Mr. Smith, it's great to see you here" I say calmly, shaking his hand.

"Of course, I had to be here to see you take your father's place" he says, equally as calm.

"Yes, his speech was wonderful wasn't it" I say, watching him carefully.

"Yes, very heartfelt" he agrees, seeming to remember I am now the boss of the Belladonna mafia.

I smirk at my new found power, then leave to go talk to someone else. Well not really, just to avoid that sorry excuse for a human.

I've despised him ever since he tried selling information about us to our enemies. His connections kept him alive though, since he swore he was being threatened.

Unfortunately, nothing proved otherwise so although we let him go, he still works under a different mafia boss.

Oh well, they'll regret it when the time comes.

"Hello your highness" Lucas appears in front of me, bowing deeply.

"Oh shut up, you look like a fool" I say, smacking his head lightly.

He laughs at the look on my face, then grabs my arm.

"Come on, you need more drinks" he says, dragging me to the bar.

"No I don't, I need to keep a level head" I scold him.

"Too bad, you need a drink" he says, passing me one.

"What is this?" I ask carefully, examining the drink in my hand.

"I have no clue, just drink it" he says, laughing slightly, and I roll my eyes.

He's already drunk.

"Yeah no thanks" I say, pushing the drink away.

"Party pooper" he replies, leaning on the counter.

"Oh, by the way I heard some people talking, and they were saying the most atrocious things-" he begins.

"Atrocious is a big word, sure you know what it means?" I ask playfully.

"Oh shut up, anyways they were talking about who you're going to marry" he says, watching me.

"I'm sorry what?" I ask, choking on the martini the bartender handed me.

"They talking about who they think you would marry, and some of them were even proposing their sons marry you," he answers, "and they were wondering if you would turn your power over to him"

"Damn, not even one day in and they want me married off" I mutter, sipping my martini.

"Yup, but you're gonna prove 'em wrong sis, your gonna be a fucking amazing leader without any damn man" Lucas says proudly, holding his drink up to me.

I chuckle, Lucas must be really drunk if he's toasting to me.

"Come on, let's get you to bed, it's getting late anyways" I say, putting an arm around his shoulders and setting down his drink.
