When it comes to defeating the "bad guy" in superhero movies/tv shows, the bad guy always loses and the hero wins, right? Usually, the hero gets beaten up in the movie or show, but they can come out victorious. What happens when the hero can't get back up and the villain wins? Yes, there are some movies or shows that show the bad guy winning, but usually, it is resolved within the next episode or so. What happens if it isn't resolved or the hero finally loses after 15 years of never suffering even a tiny loss. When you've gone all your career without facing a loss and then one day getting defeated, it can make you feel embarrassed and have your self-confidence lowered or even drained. If the public who for so many years has seen you be victorious and believing that no one can defeat you, suddenly sees you get defeated without the villain breaking a sweat, can make them lose hope immediately. Your morale is at an all-time low, the public's trust in you disappears, because of your loss. Seeing the public lose trust can make you feel like your career is gone. Is it possible to come back from that gut-wrenching loss or even just live with it? If you give up on that hero career, then who will protect the public against enemies that are too strong for their police forces? Maybe that first loss was a good thing because those "unstoppable" heroes end up realizing what being (un)stoppable means. Being overconfident more than likely will come back and bite you in the ass.
Superheroes are not always going to win every fight they encounter, almost everyone has a weakness, including superheroes. Superman may be the "Man of Steel" but his weakness is Kryptonite. His archnemesis may be Lex Luthor, but his greatest enemy is Doomsday. So just because you can be bulletproof and have invincibility, that doesn't mean you're free from being defeated. Jackson and his team have never lost since becoming The Five. Jackson is the leader of "The Five", his team consists of Vanessa, Samuel, Cassandra, and Henry. All of their powers are unique, but when the team was formed, it wasn't formed like how superhero teams are usually formed. These Jackson-led heroes were former enemies of Jackson, but he saw good in them. None of the 4 former enemies killed civilians, they were like venom. Venom never killed civilians or innocent people. When he did kill, he'd kill to protect them. So, yes, they were more like vigilantes, like Green Arrow. Jackson realized that the 4 vigilantes had good intentions, he didn't like how they dealt with crime, but he knew that he could trust them and have faith that they'd do the right thing. Vanessa is powerful. No, she may not be invincible or have super strength, but she does have a powerful mind. She has telepathic, highly intelligent, and telekinetic abilities that put her at the highest advantage when facing enemies. Vanessa, or Brainiac, can see the outcomes of specific battles before they happen. In doing so, she's able to create a plan to help the team come out with an easy, flawless victory. Unfortunately, heavy use of her abilities can put her out of the battle for a while. Cassandra, or The Quick, has speedster abilities. She's able to run at Mach 10, or 10 times the speed of sound, but with that much speed, she has to slow down at some point, right? Unfortunately for Cassandra, while Mach 10 is her top speed, she can only run above Mach 5 for most of 30 minutes. If she runs longer at those speeds, she can put herself into a mild coma, since running that long requires a lot of energy. Fortunately, resting for a mere 5 minutes will allow her to continue running for long periods. Samuel is one of the powerful ones of The Five. His powers consist of the ability to control the 4 elements. Samuel, or better yet, Element, has no weaknesses that are known. Since Element can control elements, he's able to force the air from our lungs to liquefy, forcing us to drown in our oxygen. That's what makes him one of the most powerful heroes on the team. Henry, who prefers to be called Flying Tank, is the lesser version of Superman. His abilities consist of teleportation, flight, superstrength, and mild invincibility. Even with those powers, Flying Tank is no match to someone stronger than him or has the same abilities as him. He has his own Kryptonite, which is Gamma. If Henry comes across any form of gamma radiation, he will get very weak, and have his powers temporarily disabled, but that only depends on how severe the radiation is, or how long he was in contact with it. Lastly, our leader, Jackson, better known as the Modifier, can manipulate any form of matter, apart from liquids and lead. As long as Jackson can physically touch said matter, he can modify its contents to create anything he wants. If he wants to create a baseball bat for whatever reason, he could merely just grab a penny, and modify its mass contents to create what he envisioned. As mentioned before, he cannot modify lead-based matter but can come in contact with it. Even with the powers that The Five possess, they too can be defeated. As long as they work as a team, any enemy they encounter will go down without much of a fight, or so they believe.
