The next day, Deuce and Ace could hardly sit still through our morning classes. Their nerves even made them stay alert during Mr. Trein's sleep inducing lecture. By lunch time, the Heartslabyul duo were feeling rather discouraged about not hearing the decision regarding their audition.

Several times, I heard them mumbling under their breath the mistakes they made and how they should have done better.

I tried to encourage them, "The day's not over, I'm sure you'll-" in front of me, I snatched a flying arrow in mid-air before it could hit its mark on the wall.

Ace backed away, "Cassandra, can you not find new ways to be terrifying?!"

I noticed something wrapped around the arrow, "It's a note."

"Is someone threatening us?" Deuce cracked his knuckles, "I'll give 'em a piece of my mind."

"Deuce, bad-boy-switch off," I finally undid the paper and read out loud the message, "Thank you for participating in the Vocal and Dance Championship auditions. After much deliberating, we-"

"We want to tell you that you were terrible and didn't make it," Ace attempted to finish my sentence.

I continued, "We are happy to inform you that Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade have successfully passed. Please report to the Pomefiore ballroom after class."

The two boys cheered with excitement at their success. I couldn't help but feel proud of them.

I read the last line of the letter, "To the Ramshackle Dorm prefect, Cassandra Salvatori, please come to Pomefiore with the two aforementioned."

"Are you making buddies with Pomefiore now?" Deuce wondered, "Why would they need you?"

I shrugged, "Who knows? Guess we'll find out when we get there."

"You were with Heartslabyul first," Ace reminded me, "You are not to allow those pretty boys to take you away from us."

Upon our arrival at the Pomefiore dormitory, we spotted Jamil and Kalim approaching from the opposite side. They too also passed the audition. I looked around to see if any more students would come our direction, but there were none.

Once we stepped through the main gates, two Pomefiore students stood between us and the entrance doors.

"Will you let us through?" I asked the two.

The first one answered, "Pomefiore will only open its gates to those who possess both beauty and strength!"

"Seriously?" I raised a brow, "Even if Vil invited us over?"

The second one took off his black leather glove and threw it on the ground, a gesture to declare a challenge.

"Cassie, want to do the honors?" Deuce asked.

In response, I focused on the trees growing beside the path to the entrance. The branches grew tenfold in length,  grabbing the students and confiscating their wands. I picked up the glove off the ground and hung it on one of the branches. Too easy.

After entering the lounge, we were greeted by several more Pomefiore students with magical pens in hand.

"Will you gentlemen like to do the honors?" I asked the group.

Kalim, Jamil, Ace, and Deuce took out their own pens and quickly deflected the magical attacks  Pomefiore had prepared.

"Seriously, I don't understand Pomefiore," Ace said once everyone was defeated, "We came here to talk, not to fight."
