BZZT. BZZT. I snatched my phone off my night table and turned it on, the light flashed in my eyes. Two notification from Finder and, all from a seemingly sweet Russian boy . My fingers move quickly across the screen until I reach Finder. I open it desperately. The screen then reads, "Hey." "You awake??". I look at the clock. It's currently four in the morning, his texts were sent at 3:30 am. I messaged back "Hey, whats up?". Just as I hit send my mother burst into my room in her nightdress and sleeping mask. "Chomu ty ne spysh v tsyu hodynu?". My mother had never been outside of Kyiv, a Ukrainian town where she grew up, and had never learned how to speak any English. I try to teach her but she doesn't understand the accent. She understands a little bit though. Just as I opened my mouth to answer her, my phone vibrated in my hand. "I was just getting to bed Ma". My mother wandered back to her own room and I turned my phone back on. I had received a FaceChat link. I had never seen this boy outside of pictures, so I simply told him that I was going back to bed, little did I know what would await me in the later hours of the day.
