The scorching hot summer sun beaming as It triggers Francis' eyes as he drives down the road. The sun is too bright for him to deal with, so, instead, he grabs puts on his sunglasses that he left on his cup holder. He continues to drive his convertible down the road, nothing around him except trees and big puddles on the fields from the storm the night before. He should check the time. He quickly grabs his watch from the cup holder and looks it. It's a quarter past 12. He's late, again. They're all probably waiting for him at the house, so they can start lunch. His mother is probably worried that he isn't there yet, and his father is definitely aggravated that he has to wait for Francis. It also doesn't help that there isn't a signal anywhere, so he can't call them. Francis just continues to drive down the road, hopefully going the right direction.
Of course, he did it on purpose. He had made full intention to take a longer (yet scenic) route just to avoid his father a little bit longer. He had decided this idea getting off the plane at the airport. He has just come back from Cambridge, finishing his second year at the private college and he had to go back to New York, his home state, to see his family over the summer. He had to go home though, pack a couple suitcases and get his car out of the garage. Coming home in empty home was amazing and peaceful which he wished he could stay there forever. But at last, he had to carry on to his family.
Taking the longer route does has its downfall though. For Francis, he doesn't know where he's going. Usually, coming to his family's summer home, he would take the faster route on the highway. He didn't think to bring a map because he didn't think he would need one. He's from upstate New York anyway (though he hasn't been back in New York for a year now), so he thought he could be his own compass.
"It can't be that hard." Francis thought before actually driving.
Though, at the moment, Francis doesn't care about his location or either how long it would take him to his family home. He's living in the moment as a cold breeze hits while driving. This doesn't last long as Francis' car starts to break down. Francis doesn't know what to do, so he pulls to the side towards the field of grass and stops his car. He hops out of the car and opens the hood as smoke escapes from the engine. Like he said before, he doesn't know what to do. He knows nothing about cars at all, and the car that he had was some vintage convertible that he got for his birthday. He's in the middle of nowhere and there are no cars around. He's basically stranded. He debates on whether or not to walk to a nearest gas station, but that was a reach because literally there was nothing for over 50 miles he imagined. All he could do is hope that a car would past by and offer assistance or even a ride to an auto shop. I'm the mean time, he's stands on top of the car seat and holds his cell phone up high in order to gets a signal.

Tony continues to drive down the empty road listening to an old song on the radio. He doesn't know the song at all, but it has a nice tune to it. It has been a long morning for Tony and it's going to get longer once he gets back to town. He had to go to the next town over to get supplies for his father. All for his father. Waking up at the crack of dawn for his father. It was even worse since he was drinking at the bar the night before. Tony is still hung over and his headache has still hasn't gone away. It doesn't matter though because once he gets a little bit sober, he's going straight back to the bar. It doesn't matter, but right now in the moment, he's tired.
Tony is the oldest out of 3 brothers which means that he his father's second hand. It's just him, his brothers, and his father. He works for his dad's business, a landscaping/gardening business. Of course, it's not by choice. His father decided his fate since Tony turned 18 due to the lack of acceptance letters for colleges that Tony applied to. He wasn't going to make any college requirements with his low SAT score, mediocre grades, and his little involvement in school activities. Tony would be label as a bully or a "bad boy", a typical high school cliche. Even if he actually did good in school, there was no way he wouldn't have the money to actually leave, there would be no way. Anyway, he doesn't think about the past anymore. He's 24, and he's sort of living his best life.
