Title: Goodtys best smarty pants moment
This took place during the swim program that I was in, and it was close to the end of the program. I am still in the program to this day.
Anyways, that's not part of the story
It was a regular Tuesday evening, and it was me, a good friend of mine, and the coach. There were others there as well, but they aren't important to the story. We (me and my friend) had finished up the usual warmup (by swimming a few laps at a slow pace), and was told by the coach to go to the other side of the pool. It was because the blocks were on the other side of the pool, and the current side is the super shallow side of the pool.
Anyways, I had taken my goggles off, and had a drink of water before heading over. Once I had some water, and the other one had gone off, and already hit the other side; I decided to head over. Instead of swimming over, I decided to get out of the pool... and walk to the other side. Of course this wasn't quite what the coach meant by going to the other side.
Of course with any concerned coach would be, the coach asked if something was wrong. I, as the smarty pants I was, said that I was fine, and going to the other side of the pool, as what was requested; and by walking.
It was at this moment when the coach realized what the error was, and found what I did as funny. Since then, the coach had made sure to add in "swim over" whenever talking about going to the other side of the pool for any reason.
That was THE best moment of that season (and in general overall), and nothing else has come remotely close to it since.

Title: Goodty spins for the win
This story takes place real early in the school year. Being in Canada in all, and where I am geographically, it's pretty much summer like from about mid May to the first half of September, give or take a few weeks.
Anyways, it's early on in the school year, and in Gym class (or Physical Education, depending on how the school classes it), we were doing Flag Football. It might be referred to Flag Handball (if makes sense) in other places in the world.
It's similar to American Football, but instead of tackling the person for the end of a down, you pull the flags that the person has. The flags is a rope of sorts with a crocodile clip on one end, so it can be wrapped around the person, but can be ripped off when the time comes. Also, once you pass the scrimmage line, you weren't allowed to pass the ball.
So, the class split off to four mini teams of sorts, after grabbing a pinnie (almost like a jersey you see players of the NHL and NBA have) and some flags; two teams play against each other. Let's say I was on Mini Team 1 (MT1), and the other team was Mini Team 2 (MT2). The teams had the regular length of the field (100 yards) but only 1/2 the width.
We started the game, and both teams got some points; and then this is where things get ramped up.
MT1 was in possession of the ball, and was within 10 yards of a field goal, and on the third down. I was the one lucky enough to bring the ball across the scrimmage line.As a note, I wasn't necessarily the biggest, or tallest person on the team. Seriously overweight for the age, and fairly short. Although not the most physically active, nor really was anyways, I still had some brains.
With myself having the ball, and heading towards getting the touchdown, and see that someone from MT2 was in a position where I couldn't necessarily get around, and get the touchdown, I decided to do the next thing that came to my mind. PHYSICS!
Maybe 2 yards from the line, I decided to start going around in circles, so I could have a chance to get across the line without the flags being pulled; all still hoping that my momentum before the turns would allow me to be carried the remaining distance.
Long story short, I got across the line without having the flags pulled. It was indeed a big thing of luck and chance, as many things could have gone wrong; since I could have ended up going the wrong direction, or I could have hit someone/something, or even lost my flags.
After that game, the person from MT2 had said that I got lucky on that; which I indeed see where the person was coming from. With the flags being affected by how I had moved, it made it near impossible for anyone to grab the flags.
Afterwards, the teacher had the additional policy that you cant continuously spin during a game, which started the school year after. If it is still in effect, I have no clue; as I have not been in attendance. I didn't get kicked out of the school of course. Life told me that it was time to move forward (I.E. graduate, and produce for the economy).
