I sat on the roof with Meilin, her fiddling with her skirt.

I turned to her, grin fading as she seemed nervous. "Hey, Mei? You okay?" I grabbed her shoulder gently, her freezing in spot.

She turned into her red panda, tapping her foot harshly.

I yelped, but exhaled quickly and forced a smile, trying to pretend she didn't almost make me shit myself.

I hugged her, inhaling her sweet smell. I raised my head, confusion filling me as she stared with widened eyes, cheeks redder than a cherry.

She gently grabbed me with ease, me squeaking in surprise. She sat me down, patting my head.

"Nothing! Nothing is wrong!" She grinned nervously, I tilted my head.

She seemed in a daze as she stared at me for a long second, eyes sparkling.

I raised an eyebrow, waving my hand in front of her face.

"Earth to Mei Mei? Hello?" She snapped out of it, her lowering her head quickly. I chuckled, scooting closer to her.

She sat down with a thud, me resting my head on her fluffy hip, yet her tensing.

"You're acting weirder than usual."

She exhaled. She relaxed, turning to herself again. My head was thrown on her lap, me looking up at her.

She widened her eyes, I smiled softly. She suddenly turned her head, my smile faltering.

"Mei?"

"Don't look at me like that."

I raised myself, now sitting next to her. I rested my head on my knees, using my hand to turn her head. I smiled once again, her staring at me with reddened cheeks.

It hit me. I formed my mouth to a silent gasp. I grinned, wanting to tease her.

"Why not?"

I raised my eyebrows amusingly as she exhaled again, trying to keep herself calm.

I hugged her, her finally snapping and turning into her red panda.

She put me down and sat down. I snickered and sat on her lap, facing the now-setting sun.

She shifted uncomfortably, making me sigh. "Meilin."

She froze, "yes?" Her voice anxious and full of nervousness.

"I know that you like me."

I heard her hold her breath in, I chuckled and shook my head. I raised my head, seeing her but red panda face.

I smiled the warmest smile I could, feeling my face get warmer.

"I like you too."

She gasped, I quickly lowered my head, my face flushing.

She squealed, hugging me tightly, me getting embraced by her big paws. I closed my eyes in comfort as warmth entered my body.

She pecked kisses all over my head, me giggling.

Finally, she rested her head on top of mine.

We both stared at the now dark sky, comfortable silence going off.

"Are we...you know..."

"Dating? Of course."

She threw me up high, me screeching in fear as the wind hit my face.

"WHA—"
