Promptly after they arrived in a town, they made sure to contact The Speedwagon Foundation. They had enough resources to find the baby's family.

When they had arrived to take the infant, Aria's memory of her first run in with the company came flooding back. She called her cat to nestle in her shoulder bag. Better not remind them who she was. She was the only one who wasn't smiling. Instead, she kept a watchful eye on their every move.

Jotaro noticed her hand on her stand knife. Putting his hands in his pockets, he meandered over to her. Leaning in closely, he quietly gave her a word of advice. "Put that away before they see it."

"You remember what happened to me," she muttered back.

"I know, but they might not."

The calming breath she released through her teeth tasted sour in her mouth, but she took his advice. He stood next to her during the exchange. Her shoulders relaxed after a time, and he started laughing to himself.

"What," she snapped.

"Nothing," he responded, smirking up at the sky, "It's just that you're usually the one trying to calm me down."

She smacked his arm. "Tais-toi."

The men smiled broadly and waved at everyone individually. When they got to Jotaro and Aria standing a few feet away, Jotaro threw up a hand in a casual wave. Aria, on the other hand, turned her head away from them and her suitor and spat at the ground. After giving her a questioning look, they loaded up in their car and drove away.

The sea rolled for miles in front of them. They weren't going to Egypt right away but instead going to an island fairly close to see an ally.

Aria had her chin resting on the boat's edge, her hand extending into the water. It flowed around her hands, cool and silky. When they hit a surprise bump in the ocean, it would use her wrist as a springboard, and she'd blink as it sent mist flying up onto her face. Tiny water particles would cool her face until the blazing sun quickly evaporated them.

Jotaro stood at the helm of the boat, speaking with his grandfather, but soon, his attention wandered to his lover. Whenever he was weak, he needed only to look at her to remember why he strove to be more. Like Orpheus, he had to lay eyes on the woman behind him.

She gazed at the water, her back turned to him. Her arm made a wiping motion across her face. He laughed to himself- must be that water spraying in her face. She was so stubborn. Then, a shiny white object she was holding caught his eye. He barely got a chance to examine it before she dropped it into the water. He tried to shake the thought away, but he couldn't escape what he saw.

It was a fish skeleton- picked completely clean.

Then, the boat and flowing water stopped. They had arrived.

As the party stood on the shoreline, the bushes rustled. A familiar face peered at them through the leaves.

Avdol.

They chased after him. Polnareff pushed himself the hardest. It was a chance at salvation to him, but when they finally caught up to the man, he bellowed at them to go away. A little too late, they found out that he was Avdol's father.

Barely able to hold back tears, Polnareff trailed off.

Aria called after him. "Jean-"

Jotaro cut her off as she attempted to follow him. He shook his head. Her hand falling slowly to her side, she stayed next to Jotaro.

Once the Frenchman was out of sight, Joseph addressed the man. "Alright, Avdol, how goes the deal?"

Aria's head snapped back to Joseph. "Wait, what? He is Avdol?!"
