"What are you doing sitting on the ground all alone, Miss?"

The guard asked, his voice changing from angry to confused.

"Where are your parents?"

Arella opened her mouth to speak but nothing seemed to come out. The guard stared at her luggage and spotted Alvin.

"What are you doing with a bloody owl?"

"I-I was looking for Platform 9¾. I need to go to Hogwarts. That 'bloody owl' is my pet, Alvin. He delivers letters, don't muggles know that?"

She whispered.

"Did you just call me a.. muggle? Children and their odd slang.."

He grunted.

"What's Hogwarts? Never heard of the school."

"Hogwarts? It's one of the best schools to ever exist!"

Arella said, clearly shocked by his lack of knowledge about Hogwarts.

"What country is it in?"

He asked.

"Uhm, well uh.. I don't know?"

He scrunched his nose up, he was getting annoyed.

"So, you decided to waste my time by making up a school that doesn't exist?"

He scowled and walked away leaving a miserable Arella to curl up into a ball and cry.

"Are you okay?"

A girl asked her. Arella glanced up to see a girl with bushy brown hair and beautiful brown eyes.

"Oh, um. Yeah, I'm fine."

She answered, wiping her eyes. She noticed that the girl also had a luggage trolley packed with trunks.

"I was just trying to find Platform 9¾."

Arella told her, hoping she was also going to Hogwarts.

"Oh, I'm going to Hogwarts as well. We can find the platform together if you want. I'm Hermione Granger by the way. Who might you be?"

"I'm Arella Levin. I would love if you helped me find it. My parents didn't tell me how to get on before leaving."

Hermione nodded.

"My parents are muggles so they don't know how to get on the platform, but I'm sure we can figure it out together."

Arella frowned. All her life, her parents had told her that muggles were inferior to purebloods. This belief cast doubts in her mind about Hermione's ability to help her find the platform, but she ignored them. Hermione had been nice enough to try and help her. She seemed like a kind person, and Arella didn't have any friends.

"Yeah, together we're stronger."

Arella said with a smile. Hermione stuck out her hand to help her up and she took it. They walked near Platforms 9 and 10 for a while. They brainstormed how to get onto Platform 9¾ until they spotted a large family with many trunks walking towards the platforms. Another boy with messy dark hair and emerald green eyes followed behind them and asked a question. The mother answered and sent her kids towards the brick wall. Hermione and Arella watched with interest. The kids disappeared through the wall causing Hermione's jaw to drop.

"Oh! You have to walk through the wall. Why didn't I think of that?"

Arella said. The rest of the family disappeared through the wall.

"Let's go!"

Arella ran towards the wall with Hermione close behind. They emerged onto the platform to see a train with the words "Hogwarts Express" on the front. They boarded together and found an empty compartment towards the middle of the train.

"Are you excited for Hogwarts?"

Arella asked.

"Definitely. What house would you like to be sorted into?"

Hermione asked.

"Gryffindor, I suppose. The rest of my family was sorted into it. What about you?"

"Hmm, well I'm okay with any house, but I read that Slytherin doesn't allow muggleborn students."

"Yeah, the founder of Slytherin didn't want muggleborns to be allowed at Hogwarts but the rest of the founders wanted them to come."

"What was his name? It was in a book I read, Hogwarts: A History. Oh, right. Salazar Slytherin."

They chatted for a few more minutes before they heard a knock at the door.

Who could that be?

Arella wondered. Then, she remembered her older cousin also went to Hogwarts. She liked to bully and tease her. She turned to face the door, hoping that it wasn't her cousin, Nerezza.
