Y/N's POV:
I walked through the Encanto's streets on my way to Casita. Isabela's birthday was approaching, and she had invited me to celebrate with her, at first I thought it was a bad idea, until señora Alma personally invited me, which scared me. I almost had a heart attack when she appeared in my front door, thinking she was going to kick me out of the Encanto. But she just hugged me and began telling me how much I'd grown. When I told Mariano, he smiled and hugged me, saying how happy he was that I had become friends with her girlfriend.
I smiled at myself, remembering all the time I spent with Isabela. I couldn't help but notice new things about her that would make her appear flawed, and I was so relieved that she felt comfortable enough to do them in front of me. Isabela knew more swear words than she let on, that was for sure. I also noticed how she avoided dogs and pink items. I considered getting her a cat for her birthday because of the way she'd pet señora Maria's cat, but I decided against it. I wanted to make something for her myself. So I approached Mirabel and asked her to teach me to sew, and she gladly agreed.
I walked up the casita's stairwell, and before I could knock, the door opened to reveal Isabela, who was standing there with a smile on her face.
Isabela: Hola, Y/N!
She said as she waved at me with a few pink and white flowers growing on her head. She always seemed happy to see me, which made me happy, but I needed to see Mirabel right now.
Y/N: Hey Isa, do you know where Mira-
Mirabel: Y/N you're here!
Y/N: Speaking of the devil.
Mirabel laughed and gave me a big hug, which I returned.
Mirabel: Come on, let's go to my room!
I didn't even get a chance to say anything else before she dragged me up the stairs to her room. The last thing I saw was Isabel's upset face. She was probably expecting me to hang out with her.
Narrator's POV:
Y/N: Ouch!
Mirabel: Are you all right?
Y/N: I'm fine, I just don't know what I'm doing.
Y/N said, with a smile. Mirabel was perspiring at Y/N's carelessness.
Mirabel: Y/N, your so weird...
Y/N: Thanks for the compliment...
Right now she was with Mirabel learning to sew, but she failed miserably as she kept poking herself with the needle.
Mirabel: I can help you if you want-
Y/N: No, I'm fine I got this- Ow! Okey I need help...
Mirabel laughed as they worked together to finish Isabela's gift.
Time skip
As they finished Y/N expected the gift smiling.
Y/N: It's lovely... I'm tempted to keep it.
Mirabel laughed as she stood up and dusted herself off.
Mirabel: I'm going to get some arepas from mama to heal your hand...
Y/N's eyes lit up as she finished wrapping the gift. She stood up and grabbed Mirabel's hand dragging her out of her room and down stairs.
Y/N: Let's help your mom cook!
Mirabel: What? But I have no idea how to cook!
Y/N: But you are capable of learning.
Mirabel: But-
Y/N stoped as they got down stairs. She turned to Mirabel and grabbed her shoulders.
Y/N: Mirabel, you are not a burden...
Mirabel froze in place, her gaze fixed on Y/N, who smiled warmly at her. Mirabel's eyes glowed a brilliant brown, and her smile crept up her cheeks as she smiled back at you. It was unusual how much she cared. That her sovereignty lay in the depths of another person's words, and that by using 5 different words, her day was turned upside down. As she thanked you and grinned at you.
Your face dropped, you couldn't understand. How could some words of assurance, which are so common in everyday life, be meaningless to one person but everything to another? To her. You put a weak smile on your face before dragging her to the kitchen.
Mirabel: Hola mama!
Señora Julieta turned around to see them and smiled brightly.
Julieta: Hola cariño what are you guys doing here?
Mirabel: Well-
Y/N: We'd like to assist you in the kitchen. You probably have a lot to cook because of Isabela's birthday.
Julieta took a moment to look at the two before smiling and nodding.
Julieta: Sure, a little help wouldn't hurt.
Y/N: Yes!
The two girls began helping out in the kitchen as much as they could. Y/N and Julieta occasionally assisted Mirabel with tasks she didn't know how to do. Julieta smiled at them as they worked on the frosting for Isabela's cake. Y/N began to hum a tune, which helped to relax the atmosphere.
Mirabel: I finished the frosting; are you finished, Y/N?
Y/N simply took a piece of frosting and smiledly boop Mirabel's nose with it.
Y/N: Yes...
Julieta laughed as Mirabel stared at her, perplexed. Mirabel wiped her nose and smiled.
Julieta: Why don't you girls go help with something else now I'll finish the cake myself.
Mirabel: Of course, mama. Let's go, Y/N.
Mirabel said this as she dragged her out of the kitchen.
Y/N: Goodbye, Señora Julieta!
Julieta smiled and waved at the two.
Mirabel and you had nothing to do so you decided to lay outside on the grass looking at the sky.
Mirabel: That one cloud looks like a butterfly...
Y/N: That one looks like a flower...
Mirabel: Oh, that one looks like a weight...It reminds me of Luisa.
She said letting out a chuckle at the end. After finishing helping Señora Julieta you went to find Isabela, but she was no where to be found so you decided to stay by Mirabel's side. You smiled at Mirabel and looked up at the sky again.
Y/N: Oh, look that one looks like Potato and Chicken Soup.
Mirabel: How do you know is chicken soup?
When Mirabel said that Y/N's stomach growled.
Y/N: I don't know...maybe I'm just hungry.
Mirabel: You think?
Mirabel said sarcastically making the both of them laugh.
