I sit down in potions next to me partner, Alex, who is in love with me. I knew Alex liked me, so I chose to sit next to him because he often volunteered to do my work for me. I can hardly pay attention to my surroundings because of what Sarah said in the library.
"Is it true?" Alex asks as i sit down
"Probably. Wait is what true?" i reply
"You know, about the dementor?"
"Who told you about that?" I ask, though I already know. I am sudden;y aware of the hushed gossipping among my classmates and the quick glances that they think I don't notice.
"So it is true?"
I sigh, staring straight ahead to avoid the stares of the people next to me
"Nothing's going on between me and the dementor, not anymore at least."
This seems to make Alex happy
"Do you need someone to comfort you?" He flirts
"Maybe," I lie "do my potions work for me"
He does. I pull out my quill and begin a letter to the dementor.
"Dear Dementor,
I can't stop thinking about you. Ever since I first saw you I knew you would be an important part of my life. I'm sorry my nosy dormmate interrupted us, and now all of my classmates know about us. Whatever we are. The truth is that.."
I pause to try to think of the most romantic phrasing I can. After learning about what a dementor's kiss can do, calling them my soulmate felt a bit ironic and insensitive. Before I can thnk of the perfect phrasing my parchment is snatched off the table
"Passing notes are we (Y/LN)?" Snape says in a very snape like way "Let's see what could possibly be more important than my lesson"
Snape's smug expression falls as he reads my letter. I am so embarassed that Snape is reading my love letter to the dementor, my face turns bright reddish pink. Luckily, he chooses to not read it out loud. Instead he takes points away from my house and continues the lesson without returning the letter to me. I am relieved that he only took points away because I literally could not give less of a shit about house points. My classmates seem upset about it though.
Unforchanetly, Snape did not drop the topic like I though he would, because I was later informed that Dumblefore wanted to see me.
