A Dark Awakening

Icy fingers gripped my arm in the darkness. I woke up. Where am I? Who am I? I can't remember anything. I don't know where I've been and I don't know where to go. Without any direction, I stood up and looked around. It seems I'm in a dark forest. I followed the only light I could see, The moon. As it left a path of moonlight, I walked. Without any knowledge of who I am or where I'm going, I walk. It's almost the only thing I know how to do. I walk for a while with no sense of time. There isn't the rustling of leaves or hidden animals running and the air is still. It's just me and the moonlit path. I walk until finally I reach a clear pond. The moon is directly overhead. I sat down at the pool. I know I should be scared or panicked but I'm not. I'm at peace. The cool water on my feet and the moonlight illuminating my face. My mind starts to wander as I look at my reflection in the pool. I see myself, but it's not me. The person, or rather thing staring back at me can't be me. The head of a deer with piercing yellow eyes, auburn fur and antlers draped in flowers with a golden cloak draped around my shoulders. Am I dead? Is that why I have no memory? I sit for a while longer as I've nowhere to go. I finally realize how cold I am as I pass out.
