"and that's how I ended up in the forest I guess"
Moxxie says looking from the imp that saved him who he learned was called Striker then to the tavern owner and finally his daughter.
"Sounds like ya hit your head boy"
One local pipes up and the tavern owner nods in agreement, Moxxie wasn't surprised they don't believe him he didn't really believe it himself. However when he looked to Striker the pail imp had a look of thought in his eyes, like something was bothering him.
"Maybe it's best to get you to the city to see a doctor"
Striker muses and the tavern owner snorts looking to Moxxie.
"He'll charge you small fortune for it"
He says bitterly and Striker chuckles and looks to Moxxie.
"Folks around here get bitter about paying for services especially when I add twenty percent for disrespect"
Striker says the tavern owner narrows his eyes and motions for his daughter to leave as does he. Moxxie looks to Striker interested by what he ment.
"Why did they disrespect you?"
Moxxie asks and Striker shoots him a confused look to which Moxxie shoots back an also confused look so Striker motions to himself.
"Because...your tall?"
Moxxie says unsure and Striker was shocked but this confirmed it for him Moxxie was definitely not from around here or was in fact a decent person which of course is a rarity after all this is hell.
"My kind ain't welcomed"
Striker says and Moxxie raised an eyebrow.
"But...your an imp right?"
"Half"
Striker confirms and Moxxie shrugs not really seeing the difference after all where he came from all imp were the lowest of the low, half or not.
"Stupid reason to be rude to someone"
Moxxie says making Striker honestly smile making Moxxie smile too happy to see the taller smile.
"It ain't natural"
One voice hisses Moxxie turns to look at the group of local imps his eyes narrowing.
"That ridiculous reason to be rude to someone!"
Moxxie says sounding a little upset for the taller imp who seemed all to used to the treatment.
"He helped me, didn't see any of you try and help"
Moxxie says and looks back to Striker with a warm smile which Striker didn't receive often.
"As far as I'm concerned, I'm in no better company"
Moxxie says and Striker nods in thanks, Striker places on his hat after smoothing back his hair looking to the smaller.
"More than happy to give you a ride back in to town if ya like little one but I have to make a small detour"
Striker offers and Moxxie nods quickly wishing to go with Striker knowing the taller could handle himself in a fight and had a feeling the imp knew more than he let on.
"I'm going to saddle up my horse you meet me outside once ya ready"
Striker says earning a nod and smile from Moxxie once Striker left the bar owners daughter comes to Moxxie's side and her eyes dart around the bar before whispering.
"I hope you find your way home Mr I'm sorry about my daddy and the others being rude...I don't understand why they don't like Striker either"
She says softly making Moxxie smile.
"You shouldn't be sorry for them, thankyou for calling for help"
Moxxie says turning to place his feet on the floor getting ready to stand she smiles helping Moxxie stand. Moxxie with the girl's aid walks out the bar and down the steps taking care no to put too much pressure on his foot. As they get down the last step a massive hell horse comes out the stables with Striker walking by his side the horse was sniffing at Striker's clothes as they approach. Moxxie looks at the hell horse in awe making Striker grin liking that his new little friend liked his horse.
"Moxxie this Bombproof, Bombproof be nice to Moxxie we got a long ride ahead"
Striker warn his horse who huffs a breath in understanding but her soft orange eye lock on to Moxxie looking over him for a moment giving him gentle sniff before turning biting Striker's horn making the taller imp hiss in discomfort.
"Hey! Let go you jealous mare"
Striker hisses at the hell horse who nickers playfully before releacing him. Striker makes a chuckle rubbing her nose before looking to Moxxie with a soft smile.
"Ready to go?"
Striker asks and Moxxie nods Striker links his fingers together and lowers himself to lift Moxxie into the saddle. Moxxie places his good foot into Striker's hands so he could be lifted supported by the female imp. Once comfortable in the saddle Striker climbs up himself sitting behind Moxxie which surprised the imp making him blush Striker notices and chuckles. Striker looks to the female imp who steps back giving Striker room to turn Bombproof.
"You take care"
Strikers says and she nods back with a smile.
"Same to you, make sure he finds home"
She says Moxxie's smiles holding on to the horn of the saddle to keep him steady as the horse starts to move.
Once the bar was a good distance away Striker spoke though his voice was soft like he was trying to keep what he was saying between them even though they were alone.
"I know it's odd but I know you ain't from this place because it's happened before"
Striker's words pulled at Moxxie's heart with hope maybe Striker knew how to get him home he turns to face the taller but his heart sinks seeing Striker's worried expression.
"But they never got home...right?"
Moxxie asks and Striker avoids his eyes trying not to worry the little one but wouldn't lie to him.
"Not all of them"
Striker says softly looking to Moxxie who was blinking his eyes quickly looking down clearly upset and slightly afraid .
"I thought I hated my life but now...I'm terrified I'm going to lose it all"
Moxxie mumbles through a few tears which he tries to wipe with his sleeve, Striker felt bad for him knowing the feeling Moxxie was feeling all too well he could only hope that Moxxie didn't share his fate.
