The sweet cold wind swaying through the air, the rustling of fresh spring leaves, and the soft warm light shining from the light fluffy clouds that gently blocked the sun. In front of the main gates of the Hidden Leaf Village Aoi stood there surrounded by the new signs of spring.
"It's been so long since I've been here," Aoi mumbled. It's true, the last time he was here was when the village was terrorized by the Nine-tails. Entering the gate two figures stood watch, although it's been years Aoi recognized them right away; the unbreakable duo, Kotetsu and Izumo. They had crossed paths a couple of times when they were young, however, their conversations were short so it's unlikely that they'll remember Aoi. After bowing Aoi pulled out his identification card and stated his purpose.
Taking the identification card from the foreigner, Kotetsu carefully examined the card. Eyes glued to the card that read 'Aoi', for some reason Kotetsu had a weird feeling that he had seen him before. His eyes darted towards the man that was around the same height as him, if not even taller. With his unusual royal blue hair that goes to his eyes and was slightly curly, his dark blue eyes to the point it was almost purple, and his dark blueish-green scarf wrapped around his pale neck despite it being warm out; he had definitely seen him somewhere, but where? After searching through his memories it hit him, he's the kid from a long time ago, right?
"Hmm..." Kotetsu hummed, staring straight into Aoi's eyes.
"Sorry? Is there a problem?" Aoi asked, a bit nervous.
Kotetsu puffed out a short breath before breaking into a smile. "I remember you, you're that kid from a while back."
"Oh!" Izumo chimed in excitedly pointing directly at Aoi, "We ran into you a couple of times before. They called you the Blue Devil right?"
"Oh," Aoi chuckled softly before smiling a bit. "I haven't heard that nickname in years. It's been a while huh? Izumo, Kotetsu?"
"You remember us too!" The duo exclaimed in unison.
"Yep, how could I forget you guys?" Aoi smiled, his eyes slowly trailed off to the sky, he could never forget them even if he tried. "You guys made quite the impression when I caught both of you acting all lovey-dovey, you know?"
Instantly the two faces turned bright red from embarrassment, remembering that Aoi knows the secret they've been trying to keep for years.
"R-right, you haven't told anyone right?" Kotetsu asked, avoiding eye contact, completely humiliated.
Giggling, Aoi assured them by putting a finger to his lips and closing one eye, "Don't worry your secret's safe with me." Amused he wanted to tease them more but didn't want to come across as rude. "Well," Aoi started, shoving both of his hands into his pockets, "I wish I could stick around but I have to go meet with the Fifth Hokage, see ya."
"See you later," Kotetsu said, nodding.
"Let's catch up later," Izumo bowed slightly.
"Of course," Aoi bowed down, pleased that they wanted to meet up again.
After saying their goodbyes Aoi started walking through the foreign village that he hasn't seen in years. The children running through the paths playing their childish games, the sounds of the villagers happily going about how their day was, and the cheerful spirit flowing through the air. Looking up at the Great Stone Faces Lady Tsunade's face was added, it didn't look exactly like her however the diamond on her forehead practically gives it away. Even though the place looks different not much has changed. Stopping for a second there was a ramen shop that caught Aoi's attention. 'Ichiraku Ramen'
