The Golden Arch In Time

As Gregory waited, he knew it was time. The beeping of the heart moniter annoyed him, he always thought how long it would take him to go, he always wished for it. His life was always filled with regret. Smoking, drugs, self-harm, depression, anxiety, health issues, and even more that Gregory preferred not to think or talk about, unspeakable things really. He never had a good life at the age of six he was diagnosed with a rare heart disease that was deadly and he was never trusted to do anything since his parents were always so worried. They took him out of school and homeschooled him till his 8th grade year. Only then he was trusted. He always struggled making friends so he always had around a few friends like Max and Tyler. He had only a couple of girlfriends since he wasn't really boyfriend material as girls in school would put it. Then he lost his friends, fell into a hole of depression and eventually stopped taking his meds,, and his parents were furious. "Those pills were expensive Gregory! Were already in enough debt!" His mother would scream considering as though his parents got a divorce around his age of 10 since his father left him do to his heart condition. Gregory then grew to have a drug and smoking problem. Once again his mom found out and screamed at him once more. He lied there sulking in these thoughts as he had hurt so many people. He realized it was to late. He was slipping, slipping away. "What a sad way to go, no friends, no family, no happiness, no life, only regret." Gregory said as he slowly shut his eyes. He soon began to realize the time he wasted and the stuff he didn't do. The heart monitors line went flat as he died that Spetember 21st sunny day. But it wasn't the end as Gregory saw a bright light and soon he was at the bottom of a field staring up at the glowing golden oak tree.
