"Oh dear God, what have I done?"
She whispered angrily at herself, peeling and sliding two paper napkins off the table, then pressing them on the pages of her book.
In all the time they drank coffee together, never had she ever, let her clumsiness get to her.
She was always extra careful.
At least around him.
But in reality, she was given the superpower of being clumsy.
Although she did learn how to control it, especially at nine o'clock every morning at the coffee shop.
As she tried to save her book from misery, he continued to wonder, how he never ever saw her beautiful stunning caramel eyes. Till today that is.
As she continued to dab on the book, he snapped seemingly out of his thoughts. He peeled off two more paper towels from the silver fancy paper napkin rack.
"Here, I'll help you."
He says, wiping the smooth birch table clean of the warm coffee she never got to drink.
She looked up from her coffee soaked book after hearing his clear confident voice, only to meet his ocean bottled eyes once again.
Oh how she loved his beautiful eyes.
Oh how he loved her blissful eyes.
But when one snaps out of the trance, so does the other.
She felt her heart beating faster,
"Thank you."
She had said.
He smiled in return, though her eyes concerned as she pressed on the book.
"Umm, I have to go, I'm very sorry. Here, take it. It's about time I start paying you, and it's about time you have start taking my money."
As she continued to press the towels on her dampen pages, she reached in for her purse, digging out a couple of quarters and dimes.
As she placed it on the table, he spoke.
"I wouldn't mind paying."
"-Take the money. Please, just keep it. It's the least I could do."
She cut off his sentence, pulling more paper towels
off the racket, then slipping herself off her seat.
"Thank you."
She said once more, her lips tugging to form a smile, her eyes crinkling.
Her eyes. He thought. As she made her way out to the world he thought about her
Blissful caramel eyes.
