"What do you mean they're all dead?" Stiles' voice could be heard even though Scott left his phone on the bed and was pacing near the door.

"I mean they're all dead, Stiles. It was a home invasion or something, and Samael was abducted. Mom says it's a miracle sh- that he even survived. He'll be here in a week and I don't know what to do!"

"Well for starters, you can work on your little slip up. I think that's the last thing he needs after losing everyone."

"I know, I'm working on it, it only really happens when I get worked up. I was talking more about our little problem, I don't exactly want Derek near my cousin. Plus it's one thing to sneak out while my mom is working, it's another when there's someone else in the house all the time."

"I'm sure you can work around it. As for Derek, I doubt he would get anywhere near a human, unless he exposes himself, especially one that's related to you. He didn't like it when I got involved, I don't think he wants more people to know."

"I hope you're right."

...

Samael sighed as he got out of the bus, stretching as he took in the chilly air of California, a stark difference from the south even as winter reached its end. He thought back to the events that had him moving halfway across the country as he collected his bags, "Tell me again why I couldn't just drive myself? Or hell, we could have taken a plane." He whined at the CPS agent that had travelled with him.

"You're sixteen, we can't let you go states away on your own, as for our form of transportation, that was out of my hands." The agent, a lanky man in his early thirties, responded.

"I still don't understand why I even need to come all the way here, I haven't even talked to my aunt in years."

"She's the only family you have left and she agreed to take you in, it's procedure."

Samael and the agent, who's name he didn't even bother remembering, made their way to the front desk of the bus station and he just sighed. It was gonna be a long ride from Sacramento to the middle-of-nowhere town he was being shipped off to.

...

"What are we gonna do with the kid?" A gruff voice said.

"We'll help them. We can't leave a newly turned person on their own, for their safety and ours. It's bad enough that a rogue Alpha made it into our territory and killed before we got it." A female voice answered.

"You're really gonna make that kid pack?"

"Yes."

Samael groaned as he sat up from the bed he was in, looking around in confusion. He had heard people talking and he swore it sounded like they were in the same room as him. "What the fuck? Where am I?"

"Looks like the pup is awake." The woman said.

...

"I don't understand, why am I different from you guys?"

"Sometimes the form we take reflects who we are on the inside, it seems the bite decided you're as sly as a fox." Loren, the Alpha that had taken him in, said as she ruffled his hair.

"So I'm what? A werefox?"

"Looks like it."

...

"Foxes don't get along with wolves, runt. You'll never be pack."

Samael growled, letting his eyes flash orange, "What the fuck is your problem with me, Ron? What, are you afraid mommy has a new favorite?"
