Grayson's POV
When I had come into this place, I looked at the girl at the gate. She had long blonde hair and was beautiful. She had interrupted all previous pains that had dragged through my head. She silenced the angry voices with her angelic features. She was the one, i had told myself.
But the girl at the hospital, I felt the pain that had clawed her skull.
No one should feel that. It was horrible.
I went home and sat down on my couch, looking at the TV aimlessly.
That's when the tearing sound came inside my head. "Kaylee, stop trying to get into my thoughts."
"Grayson, we all know something weird is going on, I just want to know."
I clenched my jaw, shoving her out of my thoughts. "Kaylee, I don't want to talk about it."
"GRAYSON STOP STOP!" she screamed.
"What?" I snapped because she was getting on my nerves. I turned around to see her pinned up against the wall by an invisible force. "I-I am not doing that."
"I can SEE YOU THINKING GRAYSON. YOU'RE DOING THIS!" she screeched.
I wasn't angry anymore, I was scared. She dropped and began crying and I got up and left, pushing past my mom who sounded a thought into my head 'Grayson, what did you do?' her voice said in my head.
"Nothing!" I yelled.
I ran to the hospital where the girl was. I needed to speak to her, I felt it in my gut. When i arrived, I burst into her room. "First off, what's your name?"
"My name?" she said, sitting up. "It's Kylie."
"Listen, what are you doing?" I said.
She looked up at me confused. "What'd yo-"
"You're messing up my powers!"
She laughed. "Powers?"
"I'm not in the mood for you to laugh at the cliche-ness," I said, feeling the same sensation I had felt when i had throw Kaylee on the wall. she lifted out of her bed and her eyes began to glow a yellowish.
her eyes widened. She screamed a blood curdling scream.
I relaxed and she fell to the ground sharply. She began to shake and cry.
as she began to sob, i turned to head out, confused. Ant natural human would've been thrown at the wall so hard, they'd be unconscious.
"stop. Don't leave!" she screamed.
I turned around, to see her with her knees to her chest. "Now, please explain," she said solemnly.
I sat next to her, copying her by hugging my knees to my chest. "My family has powers. I can control placement of emotions, my mom can send messages to your thoughts, my sister Kaylee, she's like 7, can read thoughts, my twin brother Ethan can move objects with his mind, my brother who is a year younger can manipulate thoughts, my 5 year old sister Jamie can predict the future through small visions, my baby brother Kaylen can teleport, my dad can control people's body, my aunt Anne can make things explode, my other aunt Sue can put anything back together, my Uncle David can control electricity, my uncle zayn can talk to the dead, and my uncle sam can fly. I know, hard to believe, but you never believed in zombies before the world went to shit, huh? that's why we were accepted into the camp. But, you get a second power when you find a soulmate with powers of different blood. I got a second power, and that's throwing people onto walls i guess. But i've never met someone outside my bloodline with powers. My mom got her powers when she married my dad, and that's how you get them ususally, but if you marry someone with powers already, you can both control all the powers available to the bloodlines. but, your powers can't effect your soulmate except for your primary one from birth, for me, that's emotion controlling. I think, that a girl i met at the gates is my soulmate..." I paused, looking at her confused face. "It's a lot to take in. I get it. But I need your help to find her. will you?"
"Might as well..." she said quietly, her face as pale as a ghost.
